How To Get Spiritomb In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl. Spiritomb appears in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as a rare dual Ghost and Dark-type Pokemon with only one vulnerability.
Many different Pokemon may be found around the Sinnoh area in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Some Pokemon, on the other hand, are extremely rare, requiring players to go out of their way to find them. Spiritomb is one of these Pokemon.
Spiritomb is a dual-type Pokemon that first appears in the original Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games. It had no weaknesses at first, but that changed when the Fairy-type was introduced in generation six. This Pokemon still has only one vulnerability, making it a viable addition to any player’s team.
Spiritomb, unlike many non-legendary Pokemon, cannot be found in the wild in either version of the game. Instead, players must complete a set of chores in order to have a Pokemon encounter.
Renri Seong updated this page on March 14, 2022: Spiritomb, like Sableye, is a one-of-a-kind Pokemon that didn’t have a Type weakness until Generation 6. It was a good tank to take down in battle because of its excellent Defense and Special Defense. Spiritomb was only available in the original Diamond/Pearl if players used the Odd Keystone on the Hallowed Tower and then chatted with 32 other players in the Underground. These are the identical conditions for meeting Spiritomb in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The following guide has been updated to include a list of 32 NPCs in the Grand Underground, as well as suggestions for obtaining Spiritomb early.
Table of Contents
The Odd Keystone
Players must first travel to Route 208 in order to catch Spiritomb. Players may notice a trainer camouflaged by trees to the direct southeast of the route’s Honey Tree if they look around. When you speak with this trainer, he will give you an item called the Odd Keystone instead of starting a battle.
After obtaining this crucial item, players must proceed to Route 209 and search for a hollow stone tower to the east. The Odd Keystone will be able to be inserted into the tower, which is the following phase. Spiritomb will not materialise as a result of this, as the actual work is about to begin.
Talking In The Grand Underground
Players must speak with 32 trainers in the Grand Underground in order for Spiritomb to inhabit the Hallowed Tower, where the Odd Keystone was put. Hikers selling stuff down there aren’t counted, thus gamers will have to spend time investigating to get the numbers up.
Examining the Hallowed Tower in the world above will allow players to track their progress on this quest. Depending on how many trainers were contacted, it will send out a different message, with each message being:
Trainers Spoken To | Hallowed Tower Message |
0-7 | “It appears to have been built many years ago.” |
8-14 | “Its stones appear to have shifted…” |
15-21 | “…Is that crying coming from inside the tower?” |
22-28 | “Is the tower shaking ever so slightly?” |
29-31 | “There is some sort of presence… It appears ready to emerge!” |

Examining the Hallowed Tower will start the Spiritomb encounter after 32 trainers have been spoken to. If players are unable to catch it or desire another Spritomb, they can speak with one of 32 more trainers to begin a new encounter.

Obtaining “Early” Spiritomb
Some NPCs, such as Blaire, can be located near the Battle Zone in the Grand Underground. However, without investigating every nook of the Underground, you can speak to a total of 32 NPCs. It will count towards the Hallowed Tower as long as players do not speak to a repeat NPC.
Emmy and Shayne are the most typical NPCs trainees will encounter when they first obtain the Explorer Kit. It is recommended that you tour every area of Sinnoh and use the Explorer Kit to meet additional NPCs.
Spiritomb will most likely not be obtained until after players have obtained the National Dex in a standard game. This is due to the Battle Area’s Grand Underground NPCs. Entering and exiting hideaways until a fresh NPC comes is the only method to gain Spiritomb before fighting the Elite Four.
Shining Pearl
To do so, place Lucas/Dawn in the middle of the Grand Underground Map, between two hideaways. Run through the tunnels and speak with any NPCs you come across. Keep in mind that Hiker NPCs aren’t counted.
Enter one of the hideaways and then exit once all NPCs in that area have been spoken to. Speak to any new NPCs you find along the same tunnel. It’s very likely that the NPC will remain unchanged. The NPCs that appear in various parts of the Grand Underground are reset when you enter and exit hideaways. Despite the fact that some NPCs are more likely to appear in specific areas (such as Eterna City), players can engage with any of the Grand Underground’s 35 NPCs. For example, Emmy, an NPC near Eterna City, can be found in the Grand Underground portion near the Battle Area. Her appearance is less likely than that of NPCs that are generally found near the Battle Area.
By ducking in and out of the hideaways, you can spawn different NPCs. Because this can take a long time, gamers may spend more than an hour on it. Those who are patient enough may be able to obtain Spiritomb early in the game.
On the Nintendo Switch, you can play Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl.
