While the holidays are passed, Fortnite’s Winterfest 2021 event still has a few days left. If you’ve been unwrapping gifts every day for the past few weeks, you’ve probably used up all of your holiday presents. However, players were ecstatic over the weekend when they went to the Cozy Lodge and noticed the notification at the top informing them that they still had one present to open? Is it possible that it’s a holiday miracle? Was there another present under the tree that had slipped through the cracks?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. No, there wasn’t any. On New Year’s Eve, Fortnite experienced a brief server outage, and it turns out that the notification indicating an extra present was really a malfunction.

“Already opened all your presents but still see one extra present to open?” Epic tweeted on the official Fortnite Twitter account. “Hold on, we’re working on it.” This could have been a poor choice of words on their part; what they meant to say was that they were working on addressing the glitch that indicated an extra present, but many misinterpreted it to suggest that they were going to add another present.
Sorry to break your holiday mood, but Fortnite does not include a hidden present. If you’ve already unwrapped all 14 Winterfest gifts, you’re out of luck. There have been rumours that Epic will provide a final gift as an apology for the mixup at the end of the event, but nothing has been confirmed as of this writing.
