How To Do The Benevolent Benefactor Commendation In Sea Of Thieves. One of the most often requested additions in Sea of Thieves has finally made its way into Season 5 content. That’s right, you may now bury your treasure across islands, either returning to get it later or, if you’re feeling very nice, posting a guide to your treasure on the Quest Board.
However, in order to receive the Benevolent Benefactor Commendation, you must go above and beyond simply publishing a guide to a treasure on the board.
Bury Treasure
To obtain the Benevolent Benefactor Commendation, you must provide a Buried Treasure Stash map containing a whopping five separate pieces of treasure. This would imply burying five valuables on the same island.
Treasures can be anything you’d ordinarily look to sell, so chests, skulls, diamonds, or crates are all fair game. Simply load the treasure into your ship, sail to an island, and bury it in the sand. You can’t donate maps that go to Outposts, so don’t bury them on one. However, any other island is available.

Donate the Buried Treasure Stash Map
After you’ve buried the wealth, return to your ship and check the Buried Treasure Stash map for the island you were on. You should see a red X wherever you buried the wealth, and there should be at least five of them if you did it correctly.
After you’ve generated the map, go to any Outpost or Seapost. Navigate to the Quest Board and then to the My Maps area. Choose a map with at least five Xs and publish it on the Quest Board. This should bring the Benevolent Benefactor Commendation to a close. It’s worth noting that you don’t have to pick up the treasure yourself in order to obtain the Commendation. The simple act of donating the map should suffice.
