To play multiplayer, players must first complete the opening Showcase segment, followed by the next two required tasks. The map will then be expanded to include more types of events, and players will be able to invite friends to Convoys. How to Play With Friends in Forza Horizon 5

Friends must first be members of the same Convoy in order to participate in Events, map exploration, and other multiplayer modes together. This is Forza’s equivalent of making a party.
Even on Steam, this makes use of the Xbox/Microsoft friend system. As a result, invites will appear as a notification, and players can accept the Convoy invite by holding down the middle Xbox button on consoles, or by opening the Game Bar on PC.
To invite friends to Convoy, bring up the pause menu, then press Y on Xbox consoles, and then select “Create a Convoy.” Select “Invite Only” to keep it between friends. The Xbox gaming bar will appear, and players can choose who to invite from their Microsoft friend list.
