Where To Find Fusion Cores For Power Armor In Fallout 4. While Fallout 4 has received critical acclaim and a lot of love from the gaming community as an open-world action RPG, many Vault Dwellers are still roaming the Boston Commonwealth and in desperate need of supplies, particularly Fusion Cores for the T-60 power armour. Because the developers did not allow fans to recharge the batteries for the power armour, characters’ suits are constantly at risk of running out of juice in the middle of crucial moments in the game.
Of course, players can exchange bottle caps for Fusion Cores at vendors all over the Wasteland, such as Arturo in the Diamond City Market, but the map is simply too large for fans to expect their T-60 gear to hold a
Anastasia Maillot updated this page on November 8, 2021: Since its initial release in 2015, Fallout 4 hasn’t changed much, but fans have gotten better at tracking down fusion cores. This resource helped to balance out power armors in a healthy way in Fallout 4, but due to their small size, they can still be extremely annoying to hunt down.
As a general rule, players should look for generators in various locations throughout the Commonwealth. However, there are a few locations that spawn a large number of fusion cores. The top locations for each area in Fallout 4 are listed below, along with hints as to where the cores are located precisely.

Core Locations of Commonwealth Fusion
The Commonwealth is the main area in Fallout 4 that players can access without having to download any DLCs. This area is enormous, and because of its size, there are numerous locations where players can look for fusion cores. As a result, the table only includes areas with more than one fusion core. A shorter list with easy locations where a single fusion core can be found has been added at the bottom of the list for players in desperate need of just one core.
Location | Number Of Fusion Cores | Hints |
---|---|---|
Milton Parking Garage | 4 | Make sure to complete the maze located inside the garage. |
Goodneighbor | 4 | These cores are only found during The Big Dig quest. Two of them become available if Fahrenheit is killed and a key is looted from her. |
Four Leaf Fishpacking Plant | 3 | Check the roof of the building after visiting inside. |
Greenetech Genetics | 3 | Head to the highest floor of the building. Both are locked behind doors, one with Master difficulty and one with Advanced difficulty. |
Malden Center | 3 | Take the elevator down to the generator, where all the fusion cores are located nearby. |
Robotics Disposal Ground | 3 | Activate the robot to loot the two additional cores in this area. |
The Castle | 3 | Defeat Sarge, and find the room with a chemistry station. |
Federal Ration Stockpile | 2 | One is found outside the facility. The remaining one is inside behind a Novice difficulty door. |
Recon Bunker Theta | 2 | Enter during the quest The Lost Patrol, otherwise, they can’t be accessed. |
The Switchboard | 2 | Enter during the quest Tradecraft. Otherwise, players will need to hack a Master difficulty terminal and Advanced difficulty toolbox. |
The Prydwen | 2 | Located on the various power armor suits, but they need to be pickpocketed. |
Walden Pond | 2 | Found inside a suitcase. |
Simple Locations in the Commonwealth with Single Fusion Cores
These locations are relatively easy to access in the Commonwealth. While they don’t carry an abundance of fusion cores, there’s at least one guaranteed in each of these places.
- Wilson Atomatoys Factory
- Super Duper Mart
- Cambridge Polymer Labs
- Suffolk County Charter School
- Starlight Drive In Settlement
- ArcJet Systems
- Back Alley Bowling

Core Locations of Nuka-World Fusion
Nuka-World is Fallout 4’s final major DLC, and it’s absolutely fantastic for farming a tonne of fusion cores for players who prefer a power armour. The Nuka-World junkyard, in particular, is a great place to visit because it has the most fusion cores in the game.
Because there are fewer sub-locations in Nuka-World, the table below includes all locations with at least one fusion core.
Location | Number Of Fusion Cores | Hints |
