Pets No More Review For Switch PC. We’d like to assume that when our pets leave us for the rainbow bridge, they’re going to a better place. Purple Tree, on the other hand, has something considerably bleaker in mind for these furry friends with their new sports game Pets No More. Should pets be resurrected for arcade action, or should this game be retired?
Review of Pets No More
This arcade game immerses players in the Zombie Pets Tournament. On Pet Island, dogs, cats, raccoons, and other animals must don boxing gloves and overcome their opponents in one-on-one combat.
The ultimate purpose is to get a very powerful disc from your side into the opponents’ goal, not to trade blows. The best of three rounds wins, and the winner advances to the next round.
Its air hockey action is straightforward, establishing a balance between the melodic motion of Pong and the frantic battles of Data East’s Windjammers. The basic action for players is to press the attack button, which delivers a blow on the disc. This can be angled for the perfect shot, just what you need to break down your opponents’ defences. A dash manoeuvre is also available, which provides a momentary boost of speed.
There are a variety of dangers to be aware of, ranging from darkness venues lighted by lightning to bumper-heavy bouts that generate full chaos. Understanding your opponent, pitfalls and all, is as important as learning to contend with each environment.
It’s just a shame that Pets No More is so basic. Those travelling alone can engage in its Arcade Mode, which comprises a predetermined amount of battles against various AI opponents. For those who want to bring a friend, a Versus Mode allows them to select any character and stage combination they like. Expect no adjustments or other changes to the rules — what you see is what you get.
This is sad because it severely limits its replayability. Although the primary gameplay is solid, the lack of alternatives prevents it from being a casual eSports smash. To make matters worse, there is no online play – this is just a local thing.
Pets No More adds some beautiful visuals and arena options to the Pong and Windjammers mix. It’s just a shame there isn’t much to this bundle; the lack of options and content severely limits its replayability.
