Animal Crossing New Horizons: How To Add Best Friends. So you’re quite proud of the island you’ve constructed in Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Switch and want to show it off to the rest of the world… or at least some buddies. Getting people to come to your island is a little tough at first (this is a Nintendo online game, after all), but once you get the hang of it, it’ll be a piece of cake.
Just a reminder that if you want to play with other people online, you’ll need a Nintendo Online Subscription.
GO TO THE AIRPORT
Begin on Day 2 by going to the Dodo Airlines airport and speaking with Orville, the bird behind the desk. Choose the “I desire visitors” option.
You will then be asked if you want guests for local or online play. Choose online play.Orville will then ask you who you wish to invite.
If you have Nintendo Switch friends who are also playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can restrict access to your gate to your friends exclusively, and they will be allowed to enter. Choose “All my friends!” for Nintendo Switch friends.
Select “Invite via Dodo Code” if you’re inviting folks who aren’t on your Nintendo Switch friends list. He’ll ask who you’d like to invite using the code. Choose “More the merrier!”
Don’t worry: unless you share the code on social media or whatever, you won’t be inundated with people.
Orville will confirm your want for a public code. Select “Sure, invite anybody you want.”
The gate will now open, and Orville will give you your five-character temporary Dodo Code.
TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT YOUR DODO CODE.
Anyone with whom you share this code will be able to join your town. They won’t be able to cut down all of your trees, but you should be cautious about who you share it with.
Your pals can now use your Dodo Code to visit an online town by going to the airport in their town and informing them that they wish to visit an online town. There’s no need to actively invite them, and you may keep playing normally until they arrive.

If someone has visited your town at least once, add them as a Nintendo Switch friend (if they aren’t already). To do so, go to your Switch home screen’s Profile tab (your player symbol at the top left) and click “Add Friend.” Then click “Search for Players You’ve Played With.” The person at the top of the list should be your newly-invited friend.
When they become Nintendo Switch pals, inviting them becomes much easier in the future. When they come to your area or you come to theirs, open your Nook Phone and look at the new Best Friends List app. There’s a Friends page that lists everyone you’ve lately played with.
Once they accept your Best Friend invitation, you’ll be able to communicate them whenever they’re online using the in-game keyboard. Setting up multiplayer sessions will be significantly easier as a result of this.
When you have a long number of Best Friends, you can have Orville invite them all at once, which is quite convenient – and much easier than dealing with a slew of Dodo Codes.
Take note: Be cautious about who you choose as your Best Friends. Any Best Friends in your community will have complete access to wreck shop, cutting down trees, and swiping everything they desire. Making that internet troll your BFF? This is most likely not a good idea.
