Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus problems and solutions

The Galaxy Buds was launched last month by Samsung with a retail price of $149.99 in the U.S. for the original Galaxy Buds. The new and improved really wireless earboxes provide you with a bigger battery, dual driver, external calling mic, faster charge, spotify integration and a new environment awareness mode to let you know what’s going on around you.

At the time of launch, reviewers gave some ravishing reviews of the Galaxy Buds+, but the latest hearing bug received lot of feedback from end users after spending more than a month on the market.

And unlike critics, there are a range of problems to be discussed in Buds+.

If you are about to purchase them, you should simply look at the following list of the Galaxy Buds+ problems.

CONTENTS
  • Problem with pairing
  • Touchpad on either bud is too sensitive
  • Interference with WiFi connections
  • Battery drain on one earbud is faster than on the other
  • Audio distortion when screen is turned off
  • Random clipping noise
  • Glossy exterior getting scratched up faster
  • Latency when playing games
  • Multi-point connections not supported anymore
  • Magnetic lids on the carrying case aren’t strong enough when dropped
  • Charging case drains extensively on standby
Problem with pairing

Most of them also pointed out a random pairing problem among reports posted online. Many users (in Reddit 1:2,3) have said that a connection or static noise seemed to be always missing from the earbuds.

Touchpad on either bud is too sensitive

As the earbuds come with external touch pads, you can unintentionally touch them when you move the head or hands. A user from Reddit questioned the touch pads on the earbuds as they were always activated when their hair touched.

Interference with WiFi connections

The new Buds+ seems to interfere in a way that slows down the Internet speed when linked via PCs with WiFi networks. A problem may be explained by the fact that Bluetooth canals will fight with the same bands as the Wi-Fi network or with a bad Bluetooth PC interface connectivity.

Battery drain on one earbud is faster than on the other

A Galaxy Buds+ owner has said that her right earbud appears to draine faster than the left, even though both are used in the same way, which sounds like a bizarre event. Other Reddites (1,2) recorded similar events, which often distinguish by more than 10% between the two light uses earbuds.

The response showed that since the right ohrbud binds the buds and feeds contents to the left orebud, it may be triggered by the fact that the cell absorb more battery.

Audio distortion when screen is turned off

Another concern on Reddit was that for a few seconds after you switched off the screen the latest Buds+ caused audio to distort. Given that this is not an enormous problem, Samsung might be up to date on a software update to repair it. This problem also occurs when you unlock your phone after a user complains of a robot sound when he listens to audio.

Random clipping noise

The Buds+ tends to produce a random cutting tone, most likely due to the complex bit rate that occurs if you’re around other Bluetooth devices. A temporary alternative is to pause and loop audio for a few seconds.

Glossy exterior getting scratched up faster

On Reddit, a user posted an image of his week-old Galaxy Buds+ case, which was visible on the outside. While it is novelty that gadgets are scrambled over long-lasting use, it remains the truth that users assume it is an esthetically asthetical step down to switch Samsung from a matte to glossy finish on Buds+.

Glossy surfaces attract more scratches and fingerprinting than matt external finishes, which in the long run will not look so fine.

Latency when playing games

When it was launched, Samsung tried a low latency Buds+ game mode during gaming. The mode, however, seems to be difficult for non-Samsung phones and is thought to not be working. A member of Reddit revealed he thought the earbuds were still substantially lagging behind while gaming.

Multi-point connections not supported anymore

When Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds+, it revealed that it could be connected to the two sound sources for multi-device connections, so that it could remain connected with two sound sources.

While a Reddit user reported that his non-Samsung devices could not be linked to multipoint Galaxy Buds+, it became clear (via Sammobile) that the Korean Giant was holding its promising backwards and deleted the original claim that Buds+ would be supporting such a feature.

Magnetic lids on the carrying case aren’t strong enough when dropped

A Reddit user revealed their experience with new earbuds in response to the Galaxy Buds+ review by another user. The charge case in which the Buds+ is mounted seems to have a magnetic deck, which can be opened on effect if dropped and closed.

As a consequence, if they are packed inside your case you may lose one or both of your earbuds and damage them.

Charging case drains extensively on standby

We mentioned previously how Buds+ drains the battery on both earbuds differently. This time on standby, the Galaxy Buds+ seems to have another problem with battery drainage. A few Reddit users (1,2) have already said that the charging case is unused for one-quarter of its charging power. One odd thing was that one user said his buds paid a total of 37% while the case lost 53%.
