How to craft respawn anchor in Minecraft

One of the reasons the Nether is one of Minecraft‘s most difficult zones is that players cannot sleep in a bed while inside it. Instead, they would need to craft a Respawn Anchor to respawn inside the Nether. In this article, we’ll show you how to make respawn anchors in Minecraft so you can revive in the Nether.

How to Make Minecraft Respawn Anchors

Players must collect three glowstone blocks and six obsidian blocks to make a respawn anchor. Both of these elements are indigenous to the Nether. After that, arrange them on a crafting table in the formation shown below.

  • Glowstone
  • Crying Obsidian

This is a light-emitting block found in branching structures in the Nether, hanging from ceilings and overhangs.

It is a luminous obsidian variant that can be used to make a respawn anchor and emits purple particles when placed. Only diamonds and netherite tools can be used to mine Crying Obsidian. It is relatively uncommon, as you would need to locate a Ruined Portal or a Bastion Remnant in the Nether. While the former is guaranteed to contain some Crying Obsidian, the latter is entirely dependent on chest drops.

Actually, you can obtain these ingredients for crafting a respawn anchor in the Overworld via a variety of means, including:How to craft respawn anchor in Minecraft

  • Glowstone can be obtained from trading with villagers or wandering traders, or crafted from glowstone dust dropped by witches.
  • Crying obsidian can be found in ruined portals or trading with piglins.

How to use respawn anchors in Minecraft

Each time a charge is added, the texture of the block changes, and the first piece of glowstone would give the anchor a light level of 3. Each additional glowstone piece added after the first raises the light level by four, up to a maximum of 15. A dial on the side of the block indicates the charge.

Charging

To make the respawn anchor the Nether’s revive point, players must charge it. A Respawn Anchor has no (zero) charge when crafted and cannot be used until it is charged. To charge, players can use up to four glowstone blocks.

Set respawn to the anchor

It functions similarly to a bed in that players simply click on the respawn anchor to set the location. It must, however, be charged at the time of the click. If the operation is successful, a confirmation message will appear. Multiple players can use the same anchor at the same time, and each revival costs one charge. Players will respawn at the world spawn point if their charges run out.

Respawn anchors, like beds, can also explode. If you use it in the overworld, it will cause a massive explosion with a level of 5, destroying nearby blocks and starting fires.
