There are only four heroes available when Darkest Dungeon 2 begins: Grave Robber, Highwayman, Man-at-Arms, and Plague Doctor. But they are by no means the only characters in the game, and some players will definitely be curious to unlock their preferred characters from the first game in the series.
The Altar of Hope in Darkest Dungeon 2 is where players must go in order to unlock heroes. It automatically visited at the start of each run as long as the player has a certain quantity of Candles on hand.
