It functions somewhat similarly to a Power Bar in that, if you miss the Perfect Points. You might hit it extremely slowly or very quickly and miss the Yellow Ring.
You must stop the Red Crystal in the bar by placing it in the gap between the Purple markings on the side of the bar that represent the Perfect Points. Pressing the A button will start moving the Red Crystal; when it approaches the first Perfect Point. Press A to halt it there or very near it. The Red Crystal will reappear after that, and you must halt in the second Perfect Point to hit the ideal golf shot that will land inside the Yellow Rings.
