Effects Of Damage Over Time
First things first: Bleed is one of the four damage-over-time effects in New World and a “debuff.”
DoTs, or damage over time effects, are harmful conditions that cause a specific kind of damage to the target over time. The following are the four DoT effects in New World:
- The target is burning and is absorbing fire damage.
- Shock: The target is shocked and gradually loses stamina.
- The subject has been poisoned and will gradually sustain damage from nature.
- Bleed: The target is bleeding and gradually incurring physical damage.
Various Weapons
When discussing bleed-based builds in New World, we must choose the “Rapier” as our preferred weapon. The rapier is a fast-moving combat weapon that can launch a number of quick lunge attacks. Has a knack for timing attacks perfectly and outwitting adversaries while inflicting bleeds that gradually lower the target’s health. With dexterity (90%) and intellect (65%), rapier damage rises.

We now have a limited number of options for our secondary weapon. Since both bows and spears scale with dexterity, an ability we must heavily invest in since we are choosing a rapier, they make excellent selections. In hybrid builds that stack burn and bleed damage over time, another option would be a Fire Staff or a Musket, but for this particular build, we’ve chosen to go with a Spear (primary), as it gives us some crowd control abilities and a Rapier (secondary).
Attributes
We are going to put a lot of emphasis on Dexterity for our build, as we said before. You should first level up to 200 on Dexterity, then add 50 points to Constitution. Your stats should resemble this once you have attained level 60:
Gears and Gems
Everything else in this build will be light category gear, with the exception of a Medium Chest piece. We are using Opal gems on the weaponry as far as the stones are concerned.
We are going to use onyx gems on pretty much all other gear.
Weapon Mastery
Rapier
Let’s begin with Grace first. Learn to evade, then crescendo, allegro, adagio, then take a deep breath. You definitely want to learn pretty much the entire Tondo column from Blood.
Spear
Impaler is a good place to start learning before moving on to Deep Wound. Vault Kick, Unrelenting Blows, and Continuous Motion should be attempted next.
Skills And Playstyle
You want to isolate a target with this construct before throwing your rotation at it. Remember that you must always be on the move, so don’t allow your stamina drop below 50%. This is crucial since you’ll be able to use the Opal gems on your weapons and receive the 20% cooldown reduction from “Aggressive Maneuvers” if you do.
Spear
- Sweep: Deals weapon damage to and knocks down enemies by focusing on their legs.
- Vault Kick: Jump forward while using your spear to kick your victim. Staggers the adversaries and does weapon damage. applies a 1.5-second stun.
- Skewer: Charge at your target while skewering. bleeds and deals weapon damage.
Rapier
- Evade: Make a tiny sidestep in the direction you’re moving in to stop any current action and gain temporary invulnerability.
- Tondo: Quickly slash up to 5 metres away. This blow causes bleeding and does damage to the weapon.
- Fleche: Leap off the ground and lunge forward for 10 metres while stabbing your adversaries. Damages with a weapon
Enter, lock the target, apply multiple stacks of bleed, and then retreat. Continue doing this until your adversary is vanquished. The build is rather simple, but if you have acquired the abilities, you can undoubtedly create your own.
