The Soulslike Genre
This gave rise to the Soulslike subgenre, and several games have adapted the FromSoftware concept for their own purposes. Due to the nature of game production, there are both good and awful Souls-likes available. The most recent, Thymesia from OverBorder Games, which debuts on August 18, has garnered a lot of attention recently. Of all the games in FromSoft’s library, it’s notable that Bloodborne has received the most comparisons.
Players assume the character of Corvus in Thymesia. Who must rescue the kingdom of Hermes and restore his memories in a harsh environment. He’ll have to use Thymesia’s plague weapons, become his raven shape, kill plague foes. And a ton of other things, all with the arduous difficulties that comes with a Soulslike, to accomplish this. Has stated that beating Thymesia will take between 7 and 9 hours, with a few elements coming into play.

It’s important to keep in mind that Thymesia is a very ambitious but unmistakably independent creation. Whereas many Souls and Souslike games might take hours and hours to complete. Even yet, the game released for $29.99 rather than the usual retail cost for a video game. When asked about this pricing choice, OverBorder Games offered the explanation. That it was due to the game’s size and provided information on how long it takes to complete. According to developer, this does depend on a player’s skill level, thus there will probably wide range in that figure.
