Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Banned Again In India?
Players of BGMI vented their frustrations about the removal of BGMI from the Play Store early this evening on social media sites and in internet forums. Online reports of the game being taken down from the iOS App Store have subsequently also surfaced, igniting speculation that it has been banned in India.
We independently checked the reports, and neither the Play Store nor the iOS App Store on our devices offer BGMI for download. Searching for BGMI on the Play Store yields PUBG Mobile equivalents, as shown in the screenshot below, but skips over the game in question.
Battlegrounds Mobile India Removed from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store
One of the most played battle royale games in India is Battlegrounds Mobile. Its journey, however, has not been flawless. The Government of India initially forbade PUBG Mobile due to security concerns. Krafton disclosed the BGMI to the public about a year later. The title also taken down from the Google Play Store and the App Store in the last few minutes. Which has everyone wondering if the title has once again blacklisted.
If BGMI is ever ban again in India
Additionally, accessing the Krafton Inc. Publisher page on the Play Store for Android only displays the recently released PUBG New State game. But that’s not all. On the desktop, we also looked for the BGMI Play Store listing, and sure enough, the game has taken down. On the desktop, there a “Not Found” message for the app.
BGMI Disappears From Play Store
For those who already have the game installed on their devices, BGMI is operational and playable. There doesn’t appear to be a problem with the servers, and the app hasn’t yet displayed a warning.

Over 100 million gamers have joined BGMI, which recently celebrated its first anniversary in India. Now, less than a month later, the game—an India-only imitation of PUBG Mobile. A Google representative verified the removal of BGMI from the Play Store. In accordance to a court order in an official statement.
Following established procedure. We notified the impacted developer upon receipt of the order and disabled access. To the software that was still available on the Play Store in India. Follow us for updates as Krafton investigates the request to remove the game from Indian app stores.
