The Myth of Tarnished Gem
• A Tarnished Gem is a semi-common item dropped by monsters. It allows its owner to use in-depth series of battle moves called attacks. The power of these attacks is determined by the various symbols engraved on the gem. A Tarnished Gem is forged in the Otherworld. Gems don’t need to be smelted; it is being refined, or in other words “tarnished” by the Otherworld’s forces.
• When a Tarnished Gem is being reforged, it is not guaranteed to get a flawless design. The properties of each gem are generally upheld, but it will most likely be flawed. It’s also possible that the gem’s in-game data will be corrupted. The gem will also be more likely to be enchanted by elements of the Otherworld. For these reasons, Tarnished Gems tend to be extremely common in the Otherworld. The only thing standing in the way of your acquiring these gems, is that their rarity is not naturally inflated in the Otherworld. The more powerful the gem, the more powerful the potential attack.
• Tarnished Gems are useful for players who would like to focus on a single type of attack, or focus on only a few types of attack. Players who don’t want to struggle with combat, will generally prefer the One-Armed Swordsman and Priests. They are the only two classes that can use these.

The Chain of Tarnished Gems
• A Chain of Tarnished Gems is a special item you can obtain through battle. The Chain is obtained by defeating high-level monsters called Elden Lords.
• Chains also contain semi-common items called Tarnished Gems. If you are in possession of a Chain, you can activate a special function called Link Attack. You can chain up to 5 of your own Tarnished Gems, and activate their attacks together to deal a tremendous amount of damage.
• Each Chain can contain a maximum of 9 Gems. However, the maximum number of Tarnished Gems you can have connected is 3. This is due to the
