How To Boil Water In Project Zomboid Stove. The first time you boil water, you’ll do so practically in the middle of nowhere, and as you’ll see, the process isn’t very difficult.
- Fill a cooking saucepan halfway with contaminated water.
- Make a campfire and add fuel to it.
- Use a lighter or matches to start the campfire.
- Place the water-filled cooking kettle over the hot coals.
- Return the object to your inventory after the ‘tainted’ attribute has been removed.
How Do You Build a Campfire?
A campfire kit can be made with three wooden planks and some bandages or paper. Then you’ll need an ignition source, which can be as simple as kindling produced from a knotted plank and a stout stick (taking a screwdriver to one plank and a saw to another plank)
Right-clicking the campfire kit in your inventory will allow you to make a campfire, which you can then light using the kindling.
Tip: After you’ve built your campfire, you’ll need fuel, and while any magazine or book can help, logs are the best.
Because you’re probably new to the game and a little lost, we’ve included a video guide from Mister Lamprey to show you how to make your first campfire.

In Project Zomboid, how do you boil water?
When you have more conveniences, you can also boil water, but the oven makes the process easier.
- Fill a cooking saucepan halfway with contaminated water.
- Drag the water inside the oven by opening the oven’s inventory.
- Using the oven control menu, turn on the oven. (Select controls by right-clicking the oven.)
- Wait for the water to reach the boiling point.
- Enjoy pure, fresh water that will not make you sick!
How can you obtain tainted water?
Simply find a body of water, any lake or river would suffice, and bring a container with you, such as a cooking pot, a water bottle, or even an alcohol bottle, but make sure it is empty. If you right-click on the body of water, you’ll find the Fill option. As you can see, you may fill all of the empty containers with water.
Tip: It is faster to utilise containers in which you can directly boil the water, such as the Cooking pot.
