How To Deal With Camping Killers Dead By Daylight. In Dead By Daylight, camping is one of the most challenging Killer methods for Survivors to resist. But here’s how they can do it.
Numerous methods will emerge in each asymmetrical multiplayer game. And some will undoubtedly rise to the top as the most efficient. Slugging, tunneling, and camping are three well-known Killer techniques in Dead by Daylight.
Any FPS player is aware with the concept of camping. Staying in one place for an extended length of time rather than moving around the map. Camping primarily defined in Dead by Daylight as the Killer remaining near a Survivor on the hook. With some Killers, it can be a devastating approach, and any Survivor interested in surviving the Trials. And accumulating Bloodpoints should be aware of how to prevent it.

The Fundamentals of Camping
Players must first grasp why camping occurs before they can learn how to counter it. Some Killers camp recklessly or out of spite, while good Killers camp for a reason. The main goal of camping a hook is to prevent other Survivors from rescuing their comrade.
When the Killer is camping, the Survivors must choose between trying to save the hooked Survivor. And risking their lives in the process, or leaving the hooked Survivor to perish. Many players do not want to see a friend die. Therefore they will attempt even the riskiest and most foolish of saves, even if it means the team’s fate.
Some Killers will facecamp in front of the Survivor from the minute they hook them. While others may traverse the immediate area to scare away prospective saviors (proxy camping). Others will generally chase Survivors, but will return to the hook if they notice. That the other Survivors are taking too long to rescue the hooked Survivor. And that hooked Survivor is likely to enter next hook state.
This method of securing free hook states is extremely effective for the Killer. And can quickly shift a game in their favor. The longer the Survivors take to disconnect. The more likely the Killer will return to prevent the unhook and secure the next phase.
Trading
The trade is a popular way to counteract camping. In a trade, a Survivor will rescue an unhooked Survivor in front of the Killer. Knowing that the Killer will quickly down, hook, and camp them. While it may appear that trades are meaningless because they leave a Survivor on the hook again. Trades are actually quite important.
The newly hooked Survivor allows the rest of the squad to finish generators, heal, and complete other important tasks. When the time is right, the team can return to the hook with a strategy for rescuing the hooked Survivor. And ideally escaping together.
A trade is more beneficial if a Survivor has less hook states. Because the newly hooked Survivor will live longer before dying. There nothing stopping a Killer from camping a Survivor from the moment they hooked until they dead. But the process takes so long that the rest of the squad will often be able to flee.
It’s vital to note that a Killer will only leave the hook if there are Survivors to chase elsewhere. Thus having every other Survivor swarm the area will simply encourage the Killer to stay put. Because no generator progress made. Having all three teammates running around the hooked Survivor like flies is best method to ensure Killer won’t stop camping.
The Best Perks To Counter Camping
There are a number of advantages to camping Killers. Borrowed Time (Bill Level 35), which offers Endurance Status Effect to Survivor for 12 seconds after they unhooked. Is without a doubt the most effective and popular. This helps the team to make significantly more secure trades. During the rescue, the rescuing teammate will almost certainly take a hit. However instead of the rescuer taking a second hit. The rescued Survivor can place himself between the Killer and their rescuer. They can then use Borrowed Time to absorb the damage, allowing both Survivors to flee.
Another perk that can used against campers is Kindred (General). When a Survivor utilizes it, they reveal the Killer’s aura whenever they are within 16 meters of the hook. Knowing not only where and how the Killer is camping gives the squad critical information on how to respond. A facecamping Cannibal, a Pig hidden behind a rock. And a Shape in Tier III patrolling the area all represent various risks to Survivors. The first line of defense against camping is knowledge.
Coordinated Saves
The coordinated save, in which numerous Survivors work together to rescue a camping Survivor. Is one of the most challenging and dangerous techniques in Dead by Daylight. A coordinated save can take several shapes depending on where the Killer is camping. Where the hook is, and what the Survivors’ bonuses and health conditions are. Multiple Survivors typically drop on the hook at the same time, with one Survivor conducting the rescue. Every eligible teammate must bodyblock and take strikes in order for the Killer to be unable to take anyone down.
The Killer can seize a Survivor in the middle of a rescue effort. Just as they can seize Survivors from generators and other interactable objects. This makes rescue in the face of a Killer dangerous. A good Survivor can play mind games with the Killer by continuously starting. And canceling the unhook animation, hoping to trick Killer into not going for grab and instead landing basic attack. Multiple Survivors situating themselves beside the hook and sharing the Killer’s attention can be beneficial in this circumstance.
When To Focus On Gens
In Dead by Daylight, altruism sarcastically referred to as the true killer. Some players, particularly when playing with friends, will go to any length to save their teammate. It’s a death sentence in specific cases and against certain killers. When camping, some Killers are simply more lethal than others. The Huntress and Trickster, for example, may quickly dispatch Survivors with their ranged weapons. And the Hag and Trapper can turn the cellar into an impenetrable death trap.
The Cannibal, on the other hand, is by far the most effective camper. Capable of slaughtering many Survivors with his chainsaw regardless of their condition. Unless the Killer makes a mistake, there is no tactic. That can save a Survivor who facecamped by the Cannibal. The Cannibal may camp any Survivor to death by standing in front of the hook. And revving his saw to instantly down any Survivor that approaches. “Basement Bubba” is a joke for a reason, and doing generators as quickly as possible. And fleeing is by far the most efficient technique against a facecamping Cannibal.
This approach only nets the Cannibal a single kill and a little amount of Bloodpoints. However playing too altruistically will result in the entire squad murdered. The ensnared Survivor has a limited chance of escaping if they have Deliverance (Adam Level 35), Dead Hard (Level 35). And Decisive Strike (Laurie Level 40), but even so, a devoted Cannibal is unlikely to let their victim escape. When played well, Dead by Daylight can be a difficult game, but there’s always another Trial.
