Players, in particular, are missing their characters when attempting to play the game on a PC after creating an account on a mobile device, and vice versa. There aren’t any major drawbacks if you’ve correctly linked your account with Battle.internet. All you have to do now is select the Server on which you created your characters from the opposite machine. Look through the list of servers to identify the one where your characters live. However, there will be complications if you have not created an account, i.e. if you have performed as a Guest. All of your progress is tied to that Guest account, and if you create a Battle.internet account, you’ll lose all of your progress and characters. If this has happened, there may not be much that can be done. So make sure you have a valid Battle.net account and at the very least save your data to the cloud. This should be done before creating any new characters. The issue appears to be a problem that will be resolved in the near future; in the meantime, double-check your Account Sync.
