How To Defeat Morgott The Omen King Do you recall Margit, the Fell Omen? You should, because he was most likely your first primary boss in Elden Ring. Well, it turns out he was only messing around when you first met him. You meet him in his true form at Leyndell, beside the huge Erdtree. Morgott, the Omen King, is one of Elden Ring’s key bosses, and here’s how you defeat him (again, technically).

How to defeat Morgott, the Omen King, in the Elden Ring boss walkthrough
Morgott repeats some of his previous manoeuvres, but he has a lot more nasty surprises in store. This time he isn’t wasting any time. After half his health is gone, Morgott hits like a truck, uses Incantations, and even develops new habits and manoeuvres. But he’s not invincible.
Elden Ring Morgott, the Omen King, is the last boss
Morgott’s cane shatters, revealing his Cursed Sword. Prepare to dodge slash attacks as well as his holy hammer, sword, and throwing knives. He’s a lot more mobile this time, dashing to get close to you before launching a flurry of melee attacks.
- Melee attacks – Morgott will charge up and swipe at you with his sword. Sometimes he’ll follow that up with a second swing, or he’ll try and hit you with his hammer. During his “second phase,” he’ll use the sword and hammer as part of a combo attack.
- Spear – He charges you from a distance with a spear made of holy light.
- Daggers – Morgott hurls three daggers your way, sometimes he’ll follow up with another throw.
- Sword rain – Holding a glowing sword, Margott will summon a rain of holy swords that fall from the sky.
- Cursed-Blood attacks – Morgott will create a red sword and either slice down with it, or he’ll use it to impale you.
- Angry yell – At half health, Morgott will yell and unleash an AoE attack. Afterwards, the ground gets covered in a liquid. There will be small patches that boil for a second before bursting. Margott’s hammer attack will also cause a patch to burst.
Morgott’s strikes are rather easy to avoid until he’s down to half health. He can dodge his melee swings by moving forward, backward, or to the side. Get some melee or spell damage in once he stops attacking. Morgott’s daggers can also be avoided. Simply keep an eye on them and move once they approach close. It takes a few seconds for his spear move to charge. When he gets close, dodge this and counter with an attack of your own.
It’s a different story with his sword rain strike. He begins by summoning a holy sword and pointing it at the earth. Glowing swords cluster in the air and fall to the ground when he thrusts the blade into the earth. Give Morgott some breathing room as he plans his next move. The blades continue to fall, but only in spots. You can move around them and keep fighting Morgott.
Morgott will unleash an AoE strike when he reaches half health, so give him some room. His sword catches fire after that, and his melee combos become considerably more intense. It’s preferable to leave some space between you and Morgott during his combinations, and then close the distance after he stops.
As a prize for conquering Morgott, the Omen King, you will receive
You will receive 120,ooo Runes, the Remembrance of the Omen King, and Morgott’s Great Rune if you defeat Morgott. Morgott’s Cursed Sword, a STR/DEX/ARC Curved Greatsword, can be exchanged for the Remembrance. Cursed-Blood Slice is its unique ability. The Regal Omen Bairn, an item that summons wraiths to attack your opponents, can also be traded for the Remembrance. His Great Rune raises your maximum hit points when activated.
Final words
Margott’s shrivelled form can be found near where he landed once he’s been defeated. When you speak to him, he teases your maidenless ass one final time before passing away. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
