Rather than putting himself or his squad in danger, Crypto gathers intelligence on enemy strongholds and weakens them before launching an assault. Crypto is one of the more durable Apex Legends to play due to his passive playstyle, but when mastered, he can flip any a part of the map into his area and make enemy squads fear preventing him.

Crypto’s Surveillance Drone and all of its capabilities serve as the foundation for all of his abilities. While the drone is nice on its own, it really shines when combined with clear communication and callouts. Use your drone to scout a location, ping banners and weapons, and communicate with your squad about the next steps. Whereas Legends like Bloodhound and Seer excel at scouting a small area, Crypto can test his squad and set up his drone to keep watch.
It is critical to remember that you will not always be in a gunfight when playing Crypto. Try to be as annoying as possible with your drone in the direction of different Legends, forcing them to either keep scanning or destroy your drone before preventing your squad. If your drone is destroyed, then join the fight with your group. Always remember to send your drone into battle first.

Knowing when to use his Drone EMP final is an important part of playing Crypto effectively. It’s easy to believe that simply using your last when you see an enemy is worth it, but this will stab you and your group in the back because the Drone EMP will stun friendly targets. Instead, plan your assault along the path of the EMP blast. Take your time positioning your drone, and when the time is right, use the blast to give your squad the opportunity to provoke a fight.
While it is best to use the Drone EMP final as an initiating method. It can be used in a pinch to show a battle in your favour. If your squad is being beaten and needs to heal, use your EMP. To virtually stop everyone in the area, forcing them to reconsider their attack. While this will most likely stun you and your group, it may be useful as a last-ditch effort.
Crypto was created to assist participants in their thoughts. While you might not always get the most kills or damage. You will help your group more than any other Legend in the game. You and your drone are the difference between a win and a loss. So gathering the correct data prior to any battle is critical. When mastered, Crypto can become one of the Apex Games’ most powerful Legends.
