Meanwhile, there is a fairly simple workaround for getting WhatsApp to work on two phones at the same time. WhatsApp Web is the solution, and while you won’t be able to use the WhatsApp app on both phones, you will be able to access the same account from different devices using a browser. Here’s how to do it:
- Open your second phone’s browser and go to WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com)
- Switch to Desktop View in Settings (three dots in the top right corner), which should lead you to a page containing a QR code.
(If you’re sent to the WhatsApp desktop homepage, simply click “WhatsApp Web” in the top left corner.)
- On your first phone, open the WhatsApp app and click to Settings > General. Go to WhatsApp Web > Select Link Device.
- Use your second phone to scan the QR code.
- Both phones should now be able to use WhatsApp.
