How To Get Windows 11 Final Version. Windows 11 is now available. Microsoft officially released its new operating system on October 5, but warned that most people will have to wait for a while before receiving the free upgrade from Windows 10. Indeed, if you’re using older hardware that’s still supported, the update may not arrive until mid-2022.
There is, however, no reason to wait that long. Windows 11 is now available to download as an ISO file directly from Microsoft, with a near-final version also available through the Windows Insider Program. Both methods are completely free and should only take a few minutes to complete.
Before we continue, it’s important to define what we mean by “final version.” This includes any version released since 5 October, but Windows 11 will continue to receive updates for the rest of its life. That’s typically ten years – Windows 10 was released in 2015, but will receive updates until 2025.
However, this is not the simplest method of upgrading to Windows 11. Microsoft is gradually distributing the update to all compatible devices; this process is expected to take several months, but the company has stated that it is “advancing the pace of the rollout faster than we previously anticipated.” Before proceeding with the steps in this article, check in Settings to see if it has arrived on your device.

If you haven’t already done so, the first step is to ensure that your Windows 10 device is compatible with Windows 11. Microsoft has updated the hardware requirements, which means that a lot of older hardware will no longer officially supported.
The quickest way to find out is to download Microsoft’s updated PC Health Check app – it’s completely free and takes only a minute or two to install. It’s far more dependable than the previous iteration, though you may need to manually enable TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot, both of which are required.
