Tapu Lele’s Weaknesses in Pokemon GO

Tapu Lele is a defensive dual type with a lot of power. Psychic and Fairy effectively cover the weaknesses of each type, leaving Tapu Lele with only three: Steel, Ghost, and Poison.

With that in mind, make sure you have at least a handful of Pokemon with those types or, at the the least, covering moves of those three types in your party.
Tapu Lele’s Counters in Pokemon GO

In addition to Psyshock and Moonblast, Tapu Lele gets access to covering moves like Astonish and Focus Blast. Steel and Ghost-type Pokemon would normally be ideal counters to Tapu Lele, but since it has access to super-effective techniques against both types, things can get a bit sticky.
This simply goes to prove how powerful Tapu Lele is, so use the semi-counters you have to your advantage and you should be able to defeat this Island Guardian. The following is a list of Pokemon that are effective against Tapu Lele:

- Mega Beedrill – Sludge Bomb and Poison Jab
- Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash by Metagross
- Genesect – Metal Claw and Iron Head Dialga – Metal Claw and Iron Head Genesect – Metal Claw and Magnet Bomb
