How To Download Adobe Photoshop Free Download Full Version . Since Adobe dropped the Creative Suite branding in 2011 and transitioned to being a software-as-a-service provider, it hasn’t been possible to pay a one-time fee and have a standalone version of Photoshop. Not the full-fat, professional version, at any rate.
However, there are alternatives if you want to avoid paying a monthly subscription fee for Creative Cloud.
Photoshop is available for free on Mac and PC as part of Adobe’s Creative Cloud trial, but apps such as Photoshop Express and Photoshop Camera are completely free to use on mobile devices and do not require a subscription.
While the trial only lasts a week, there are ways to save money on Creative Cloud subscriptions if you know where to look. Students and teachers receive an all-year discount, making the steep price much more affordable.
Here we go over all of the different ways you can get Photoshop on your Mac or PC right now, as well as how much it will cost if you go the subscription route.

How to Get Free Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop CC is available for a free 7-day trial. The download includes the full version of the software. After the trial period expires, you must pay, but Adobe typically provides a 14-day window (from purchase) to cancel and receive a full refund.
PC users will require Windows 10 or later, as well as at least 8GB of RAM (though 16GB is recommended). It also works with Windows 10 ARM devices that have at least 8GB of RAM and 4GB of GPU memory.
Mac users will require macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later, with macOS 11.0 (Big Sur) and macOS 10.15 (Catalina) being recommended. The minimum RAM requirement is 8GB, but 16GB is recommended.
Adobe has more information on both Mac and PC system requirements. We also recommend that you read the Adobe FAQs about the free trial.
Of course, you can skip all of that and simply download Photoshop’s free 7-day trial right now.
Photoshop Express is available for free on Android, iOS, and Windows.
If you only need basic photo-editing tools, Adobe offers Photoshop Express, a free app available on the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Microsoft Store. That is, you can use it on your computer or laptop.
It’s pretty good for a free app, though it bears no resemblance to traditional Photoshop at all. It’s more akin to other quick photo-editing apps like Snapseed and the one included with Google Photos. That means you can add filters, crop, transform, adjust perspective, adjust (brightness, contrast, saturation, and more), add masks, and do a variety of other things. You can find a list of all Photoshop Express features here.
Except when using the red-eye reduction and spot healing tools, you cannot edit specific areas of an image. There is no image resizing (but you can specify the output resolution to the nearest 200 pixels in width) and no layer support.
It’s free, and all you have to do to use it is sign up for an Adobe account. You might as well give it a shot and see if it’ll do what you need it to.
Photoshop Camera is available for free on Android and iOS.
The Photoshop Camera app allows you to apply various effects and filters directly in-camera, effectively “Photoshop” your image as you capture it! It’s also completely free to use.
It isn’t free, but Photoshop Elements is the best option for those who want ‘proper’ Photoshop without the subscription fees. This is a true cut-down version of Photoshop, and it supports layers as well as many of the commonly used features and tools.

Photoshop Elements 2022, the most recent version, costs around £90 / $99 from Adobe, but is slightly less expensive from Amazon UK and Amazon US.
Amazon has Adobe Photoshop discounts.
Amazon has the entire Adobe CC suite for £548.79 (for one year), saving you £47.54 off the regular price.
The Photoshop and Premiere Elements 2022 bundle is also available on Amazon for £129.99. The 2021 bundle was previously available for as little as £78.99, but that is no longer available.
There are currently no comparable deals in the United States.
Adobe occasionally has its own sales with discounts of up to 40% off, though we’ve previously seen up to 40% off.
Student and teacher discounts on Photoshop
While Adobe does not offer a student discount on Photoshop alone, students and teachers can save up to 65% on the entire Creative Cloud bundle (60 percent in the US). See our comprehensive guide to the Adobe Creative Cloud student discount.
Students and teachers have the option of selecting one of two annual payment plans:
Annual prepaid: £196.30 (VAT included) per year or US$239.88 per year
Annual subscription, paid monthly: £16.24 per month (VAT included) or $19.99 per month (USD).
The student discount reduces the overall cost of the suite by £68.20 compared to the 1TB Photography Plan (£19.97/$19.99 per month, or £238.42/$239.88 per year) and the Single App Photoshop subscription plan.
However, you must show proof of student eligibility or institutional affiliation to receive this discount. All of the eligibility requirements can be found here.
This includes not only Photoshop, but also a slew of other powerful Adobe apps like Illustrator, Lightroom, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Acrobat Pro, Spark, and Adobe XD – all at a significant discount. All of the apps included with the full Creative Cloud bundle can be found here.
