Using the Hourglass, a magical artefact that slows down time, can help you gain some distance from a conflict. Its ability to consume magic while active can be useful in fights like the Heir’s. The southern land bridges of the Overworld hide many secrets, including hidden fairies. But there’s more: a cave beneath the southern bridge. At the end of a flooded tunnel, you’ll find a chest containing the Hourglass.

This cave is accessible early in the game, so it may be your first magical find. The cave is guarded by four laser turrets, so if you don’t have the shield yet, you’re in trouble. If you can get past the Hourglass and open the chest before the fire, you might be able to turn the tables.
