The white-masked NPC asks players to soak a cloth in Maiden’s Blood during Varre’s questline. Fortunately, the Church of Inhibition has a source of Maiden Blood. Unfortunately, getting there is confusing and dangerous for new players to the Lands Between. Here’s how to get to the Church of Inhibition in Elden Ring and claim your reward.
Accessing the Church of Inhibition in Elden
Those hoping to get to the Church of Inhibition quickly will be disappointed. The church is in Liurnia of the Lakes, far north of Elden Ring’s starting point. It’s the farthest north players can go without using the Grand Lift of Dectus. While it is possible to run straight there, it is a long journey through some tough enemies at a low level. Those who are good at dodging on Torrent can get to the Church of Inhibition without ever defeating a Demi-God.

Players can warp to the Grand Lift of Dectus and walk back into Liurnia of the Lakes to reach the same location. From there, they should turn left and climb a small hill near the elevator. They’ll find a path through the woods leading up the hillside to a large tower. The tower can now spew Madness that builds up slowly until it afflicts the player. The only way out is to lose sight of the tower. To avoid the tower’s gaze, hide behind rocks, trees, or use the hilly terrain.
How To Get To Church Of Inhibition
Ahead of them is an abandoned town filled with enemies infected with the Madness. From there, they’ll need to cross the town to another hill that leads upward and around. This path eventually leads to the Church of Inhibition, but players should be aware that a powerful NPC Invader awaits them there.

Those who arrive early will have their hands full with the fast-moving Vyke and his powerful attacks. There is no way to enter the Church of Inhibition without running into this bloodthirsty NPC, but some players have reported Vyke not attacking them (as of March 16th, 2022). It’s unclear if this is a bug or linked to specific items, bosses, or quests.
After defeating Vyke, enter the Church of Inhibition. Interacting with the Maiden in the chair gives players the Finger Maiden armour set and the cloth from Varre.
