Elden Ring has plenty of bosses for you to defeat, but only some need to be done for the story. Here are all mandatory bosses in Elden Ring.
All Mandatory Bosses Locations In Elden Ring. As Tarnished, you’ll face many challenges in the Lands Between. Some challenges, on the other hand, are completely optional Elden Ring.
While defeating optional bosses, especially those with early game weaponry, is a good idea, it is not needed.
However, if you simply want to get through the storey, here are the bosses you must defeat in order to reach the game’s conclusion.
What Bosses Are Required In Elden Ring?
There are a total of 12 mandatory bosses minimum in Elden Ring where are necessary to defeat before completing the game.
To advance the storey, you must kill two shardbearers (Great Rune Carriers) before we go into the list. You can choose one of these two, however some of them include a pre-existing boss that must be defeated.

- Godskin Duo (Dragon Temple Altar, Crumbling Farum Azula)
- Maliketh, the Black Blade (Crumbling Farum Azula)
- Sir Gideon Ofnir, The All-Knowing (Royal Capital, Leyndell)
- Godfrey, First Elden Lord / Hoarah Loux (Queen’s Bedchamber, Leyndell)
- Radagon of the Golden Order (Elden Throne, Leyndell) (First phase of Final Boss)
- Elden Beast (Elden Throne, Leyndell) (Final Boss)
While the Draconic Tree Sentinel isn’t essential to complete the storey, he is one of the major obstacles in the road of Leyndell. There is another path, but it has more bosses and isn’t as obvious. The Draconic Tree Sentinel is the shortest way to get there.
