After finally reaching the Roundtable Hold in Elden Ring. One might question what the red square debuff with an arrow going downwards is all about. It appears to have appeared unexpectedly beneath the health bar for no apparent reason. There doesn’t appear to be a way to clear. It at first and there’s no apparent solution in Elden Ring’s Status page. The health debuff really occurs when the player character takes a hug from Fia, one of the Hold’s inmates.
The seemingly welcoming embrace, like so many things in Elden Ring’s world, comes with a catch of its own. Fia is a deathbed companion found in Elden Ring’s Roundtable Hold’s bedroom. She will ask the player’s character if they will “let her to hold them briefly” when they meet her. If the player accepts, they will receive the Baldachin’s Blessing as a reward, but is it worth it?
Should You Accept Fia’s Embrace?
The difficult part of determining whether or not to let Fia accept. The player’s character is weighing the risks and benefits. On the one hand, the Baldachin’s Blessing is quite valuable, as it gives the character a short increase to their poise stats. On the other hand. The 5% reduction in health stats may present complications for players that still have a lot of exploring or ground to cover in their journeys.
When it comes to tough opponents and bosses, however, having an increased buff in the character’s composure as a result of the blessing means that they can endure multiple hard blows without losing their guard.

Furthermore, after applying the Baldachin’s Blessing, the health debuff will be removed. When using the blessing over short distances or en way to confront a boss, the timing of when you use it will make a tremendous difference. Using Fia’s embrace in Elden Ring is a double-edged weapon that requires a bit of time on the part of the player.

Fia will only give the player character one Blessing at a time, but there is no limit to how many times the player character can get one from her. Furthermore, choosing to embrace her a second time will start a secret dialogue and a mission involving D and the Deeproot Depths.
