Campaign Launch & Overarching Strategy
Players will notice when starting a new game that the Khorne faction only has one Legendary Lord, the Bloodthirster Skarbrand. The Exile of Khorne faction has the following effects:
- Armies resupply in faraway lands.
- -20 with Khornate factions in diplomatic relations
- After razing a settlement, the campaign movement range is +25%. (all characters)
Killing, killing, and more killing will be the Exiles of Khorne’s defining strategy. As they serve the Chaos God Khorne, who desires blood and skulls. The Khorne faction begins the game at war with several of its neighbours. Therefore it will be in the player’s best interests to start crushing everyone right away. The Exile of Khorne faction uses a supplementary resource from Favor, Skulls, to feed this wave of destruction. Skull generation will be critical for the campaign’s long-term success. As their faction features reward them with Skulls and another feature called Bloodletting for doing so.

As settlements fall under control and Skulls build up for the Skull Throne, the player should eventually have enough resources to sustain more and more soldiers for exponential conquest.
Units
More than anything else, the Khorne army’s strength will come from its formidable Lord and Heroes, as well as its soldiers and monsters.
Khorne players will want to use this heavy infantry composition, but they should be aware that Khorne lacks dedicated ranged units.
To counteract this, having some supporting cavalry like as Warhounds, Skullcrushers, or Chaos Furies to work around the frontline and harass these units will be crucial.

Cultist Of Khorne And Bloodreaper
Both of these units should utilised in the same manner as the Heralds. Because they are lords who will rout the army if they pass, they may deployed much more freely.
They should not, however, treated as disposable fodder because they are formidable troops capable of maintaining or supporting the frontline. They should utilised in unison with infantry to chop down the enemy, or as back-up fighters ready to jump in and help stumbling units.
Infantry
All of the Chaos God factions extremely specialised, and the Khorne army’s infantry is its backbone. Almost all of their anti-infantry troops are highly formidable, capable of annihilating any unit that engages in continuous fight.

When used together, this frontline will be virtually invincible in long-term battle against any other infantry troops.
Cavalry, Chariots, And Flying Units
It will be critical for the player to include some cavalry, chariot, or flying units in their roster to support this frontline, as they will be able to quickly manoeuvre around the battlefield to prevent cavalry charges from coming in from the flanks, or to harass archers attempting to break the line down.
Because most of the Khorne army’s tactic is simply driving units into conflict, this is perhaps the most mechanically complex component of employing them on the battlefield. The player will need to micromanage a little more than the Seducers of Slaanesh faction, but not nearly as much.
Because Khorne’s infantry, unlike the Seducer’s lesser units and flankers, best suited for continuous warfare, it easier to give instructions to them and then forget about them while concentrating on the cavalry.
The Warhounds should used against squishier targets like opponent ranged and light cavalry, while the Skullcrushers should used as flankers against enemy infantry.
Monsters
The Exiles of Khorne have access to a variety of monsters, but they can all employed in the same way as frontline supporters and counters to large units.
Minotaurs, for example, should introduced last to the frontline as a formidable charging force capable of crushing opponent morale and adding to the death ball that is a Khorne frontline. The Soulgrinder can also be used to combat hostile Heroes or Lords, as well as other monster opponents.
The Exiles of Khorne a hardened and vicious faction capable of chomping down on any unfortunate soul who gets caught in their frontline meat grinder. As the player marches throughout the campaign area, incredibly powerful army and monsters will prevail.
