How To Get Pikachu In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl

How To Get Pikachu In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl. Pikachu is the mascot of the Pokemon franchise, as all trainers are aware. This cute yellow mouse may not have great stats, but it’s a good option for those looking for an Electric-type to add to their Party. Thankfully, Pikachu makes a comeback in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Pikachu’s environment in the Sinnoh region may be familiar to fans of Diamond and Pearl. Players that enter Sinnoh for the first time through Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl may feel unsure. If they want Pikachu and plan to evolve it into Raichu, they must stop at one location on their journey.

Renri Seong updated this page on February 17, 2022: Pikachu is one of the few Electric-type Pokemon available before the postgame in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Pikachu, the Pokemon mascot, may not have the same stats as Ash’s Pikachu in the anime, but it’s an excellent Electric-type to have at the start of the game. Players can collect a Thunderstone and evolve their Pikachu into Raichu if they want to keep their Pikachu on the squad. The following guide has been updated to incorporate a new method of obtaining Thunderstones as well as more details on Raichu’s stats and abilities.

Finding Pikachu

When players have made some headway on their trip, they will come upon Pikachu. Players should have both the Coal Badge and the Forest Badge by the time Pikachu becomes “available.” They must also have arrived in Hearthome City. The gym in Hearthome will be unavailable until the player has obtained the Cobble and Fen Badges, however trainers do not require these badges to obtain the electric mouse Pokemon.

To obtain Pikachu, begin by leaving Hearthome City via the southernmost exit. This will take you to Route 212. A building on the right will be seen as you continue down the road. This is the Pokemon Mansion, and the Trophy Garden is located behind it. Enter and immediately proceed to the garden.

Pikachu is a Random Encounter that may be caught at the Trophy Garden. Pikachu isn’t a particularly rare Pokemon, and it should be about level 18. Start the battle with a Quick Ball or try to catch it the old-fashioned manner.

Electric-type Pokemon can no longer be paralysed in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. As a result, moves like Stun Spore and Thunder Wave should be avoided. Instead, use Sleep Powder or Hypnosis to put Pikachu to sleep. From there, nibble away at its health while avoiding knocking it out. Bring Great Balls or Ultra Balls instead of Poke Balls because Pikachu has a 20% catch rate.

A Light Ball is sometimes carried by a Wild Pikachu. This is a unique item that increases Pikachu’s Attack and Special Attack by a factor of two. In addition, breeding a Pikachu with a Light Ball passes on the move Volt Tackle to Pichu.

Evolving Pikachu

By levelling up, Pikachu cannot evolve into Raichu. Trainers should instead give it a Thunderstone.

Unfortunately, the most reliable methods of obtaining a Thunderstone will not be available until much later in the game. The quickest way to get a Thunderstone is to pick one up in Sunyshore City. This city will not be accessible until the “blackout” in Sunyshore has ended. Players will have already experienced the events of Spear Pillar before setting foot in Sunyshore City.

Head up the glass bridge/walkway near the wooden sign at Sunyshore City’s entrance to receive the Thunderstone. Right, up, and all the way to the right, where a Sailor stands. Take the stairs down to a boulder near the water, where you should find a Poke Ball item. A Thunderstone can be found inside. Pikachu will evolve into Raichu if you use this on it.

Going into the Grand Underground and mining for more Thunderstones is another option. Due to the fact that Thunderstones aren’t guaranteed when mining, gamers will have to rely on luck.

More Information About Raichu

Some trainers may prefer to keep Pikachu, however it is strongly advised that they evolve it into Raichu if they intend to employ it on their team. If players don’t want to waste time in the Grand Underground, they’ll almost certainly be accompanied by Pikachu throughout the majority of the game. This is due to the Thunderstone in Sunyshore City, which is the only guaranteed means for BDSP to obtain Pikachu’s evolution method.

While Raichu’s initial stat total of 485 may not seem excessive to some players, it is a speedy Pokemon with a better possibility of being the first to move in battle. Raichu’s stat distribution is as follows:

Base Stat NameStat Number
HP:60
Attack:90
Defense:55
Special Attack:90
Special Defense:80
Speed:110

Raichu has the following type effectiveness as an Electric-type Pokemon:

Type-EffectivenessType
Super-effective against:Flying, Water
Weak against:Ground
Immunities:N/A
Resistances:Steel, Electric, Flying

Raichu’s top stats are Speed and Special Attack, according to its base stat spread. As a result, Raichu’s optimum Nature might be either Modest (+Sp.Attk, -Attk) or Timid (+Spd, -Attk). Natures that reduce a creature’s Special Attack or Speed should be avoided at all costs. It should be noted that, while Raichu’s learnset has a mix of Physical and Special Moves, it is preferable to create a Raichu build with more Special Moves than Physical Moves.
