What Does The Huckleberry Catalyst In Destiny 2

What Does The Huckleberry Catalyst In Destiny 2. In Destiny 2, the Huckleberry Catalyst should be on players’ minds. Given its abilities, the Huckleberry is a competent SMG that is good in PVE or Gambit modes. Players can easily slay hordes of opponents in a chain.

The Huckleberry Catalyst, which is fitted and upgraded on the weapon, is the weapon’s major strength. The Huckleberry is a drab and unappealing character without the Catalyst. Here’s how to get your hands on the Huckleberry Catalyst and what it can do for your weapon.

Anastasia Maillot updated this page on February 19, 2022: The Huckleberry is a dream come true weapon for SMG fans. It maintains a major presence in Destiny 2’s PVE mode while seeing very little, if not non-existent, use in PVP. This is due to the Huckleberry’s unique PVE capabilities, which will be discussed further on. Furthermore, how will the artefact mods effect this exotic weapon and its catalyst as Season of the Risen approaches? Here’s how the Witch Queen will alter the Huckleberry (or not), as well as if the catalyst is still worth pursuing.

What It Does

The Huckleberry Catalyst has only one benefit:

  • Bull Rider – A kill with this weapon will instantly reload the whole magazine.

The Huckleberry’s power comes from this. The 37 magazine limit would ordinarily be fairly restrictive, however the Catalyst perk effectively gives the player a limitless magazine. When a kill is made, the weapon will automatically reload, assuring a constant supply of ammunition.

Given that a kill is required, this weapon is only used in PVE and not PVP. Players can mow down hordes of enemies in one continuous stream of metal with this Catalyst and well-timed kills.

How To Get It

Obtaining the Huckleberry Catalyst can be a bit annoying. The only way to do it is to get it as a drop in playlist activities: strikes, crucible rounds, or gambit matches. The drop rate is unknown but based on player feedback it is rather rare and will take some time.

It can drop in the first few sessions or require weeks of farming before it’ll pop. Players should settle in for multiple grinding sessions. It’s strongly recommended to pursue something in tandem while grinding for this Catalyst.

Upgrading

Once the player obtains the Huckleberry Catalyst it’s strongly recommended that upgraded as soon as possible. To get this players will need to get 500 kills while utilising The Huckleberry. This may sound rough, and honestly it’ll take a while, but weapon meant to eliminate hordes of foes incredibly swiftly.

The ideal way to do this is to grind PVE with low-level foes. Simply get a number of clustered together and mow them down in mass. It’ll take quite a bit of ammo, but gamers can very swiftly farm kills.

The Altar of Sorrow on the Moon is a great place for this, as it allows players to repeat the same activity while also creating plenty of foes for them to destroy.

Tips

The Huckleberry Catalyst drop rate cannot increased in any way. It’s only a matter of grinding through matches till it falls. Fighting at a higher level is beneficial, but if the tasks can completed quickly, it’s also worthwhile to lower the difficulty level. Otherwise, players should do whatever is most enjoyable while crossing their fingers that the price will fall in the interim.

Another thing to bear in mind is that upgrade kills are also retroactive. The Huckleberry can used to grind for the Huckleberry Catalyst, and the kills will count. In the best-case scenario, the Catalyst appears early in the game, and the player must grind kills to progress. In the worst-case situation, it takes an eternity to drop, but the player has already accumulated enough kills to quickly upgrade it.

Are The Huckleberry And Its Catalyst Worth It?

Even in PVE, the Huckleberry isn’t a particularly popular weapon. Due to a seasonal artefact in Season 15 that favoured Fusion Rifles, it didn’t see much, if any, use in endgame PVE content. Season 16 ushers in a new era for Destiny 2, and grinding for the catalyst may still be worthwhile.

Given the Huckleberry’s increased potency and limitless clip, the catalyst is a must-have for anyone who prefers to employ this weapon. It’s great for getting rid of advertisements. Furthermore, Bungie has hinted that SMGs will get an Anti-Barrier champion mod in the artefact in Season 16, so the Huckleberry could be useful in some more difficult PVE content.
