How To Get Into The Dorm In Episode 1 In Life Is Strange Remastered. Max will run into Victoria Chase and her pals on the steps going up to the girl’s dormitory in Episode 1 of Life is Strange Remastered while on her way to get Warren’s flash drive at the start of the game. As Max tries to get Victoria and her cronies out of the way, the player encounters their first big puzzle using Max’s newly acquired abilities.
As players learn how to use Life is Strange’s time-reversal feature and how it fits into the game’s many puzzle parts, this guide will show them how to do so.

Approaching The Dormitories
Players will find Victoria, Courtney, and Taylor blocking the route into the dorms when they first enter the courtyard after passing through the Blackwell grounds. Victoria will block the player’s path indefinitely after asking Max to “go f*ck your selfie,” one of the series’ more iconic lines, so seek about for a means to relocate her.
In a short but pointed cinematic, the player will see Samuel (the slow walking groundskeeper in blue) climb a ladder with a can of paint, which he will put on a hook at the top.
Samuel And The ladder
Wait too long and the screen will turn grey, revealing a close-up of the paint can; this is a point of no return and a potential fail-state for Max, with the concept being that the player must “urge” Victoria to move before Samuel places the can down. Simply rewind far back possible and start the scenario over to prevent locked in an endless, futile time loop. As the player rewinds, they may see a small grey circle at a position on the rewind spiral – this represents the point at which Samuel places the paint can down, so keep a watch on it and make sure everything completed before this point.
Tampering With The Paint Can
Returning to the beginning of the scene, the paint can found at the foot of the red ladder to Victoria’s left. Max can see the option to “Tamper” with it when he examines it; utilise some time manipulation to do so before Samuel gets too close, or Max will locked out of the option. However, doing so will not cause Victoria to move because the paint will only splash in front of her.

Getting Victoria Off The steps
If the player looks closely, he or she may notice sprinklers on both sides of the dormitory steps. Max says she could ‘turn up the sprinklers’ to get Victoria to move after looking at these instructions. Max can see Samuel emerge from a white door further to the left of the steps, at the far end of the path, at the start of the scenario. Enter a little storage cupboard through the door.
As Max approaches, the player will see a ‘Water Pump’ to the left; press the ‘Use’ button to see the sprinklers widen, driving Victoria up off the steps and ideally in position for the falling paint. Allow the scene to play out after ensuring Max has tampered with both the water pump and the paint can in this timeline (highlighted by the additional grey circles on the rewind spiral).
If the player got the sequence correct, a cutscene will play showing Victoria, who is furious, dismissing Courtney and Taylor. After that, go up to the dorm steps and introduce yourself to her. This is the episode’s second significant choice, and one that will have ramifications throughout the series, so choose wisely. She’ll finally move aside after that, allowing Max to enter the dormitory.
