Every Collectible Locations In Contrast. While the majority of Contrast’s gameplay revolves around shadow-shifting and puzzle platforming, it’s also worth looking for all of the game’s Collectibles. These letters, newspapers, and posters tell Didi’s family’s tale in ways that you wouldn’t see otherwise. Although they aren’t essential to finish the game, there are various achievements based on them.
We’ll walk you through the locations of every Collectible in Contrast in this guide. In most cases, locating them is merely a matter of knowing where to look; unlike the Luminaries, Collectibles rarely necessitate difficult acrobatics.

Act 1 Collectibles
Didi’s Drawing
When you first start the game, the first Collectible is right in front of you. Simply walk up to the white lights and interact with them to get Didi’s crayon drawing of her family, which includes Dawn (you).
Poster of Katherine Knight
Head down the stairs after exiting the alleyway under Didi’s window and obtaining your first Luminary. Turn around as you walk past the strong light casting shadows on the wall to your left; you’ll see the telltale lights floating around a poster for Kat’s Ghost Note concert.
Carmine Acquitted Headline
Look to your right as you approach the Ghost Note for a grungy bar named Pompeii. Pick up a newspaper from a table outside and read the headline regarding gangster Carmine Bruni’s second acquittal on murder charges.
Letter from the Department of Child Services
The letter is on a table in a private booth on the second floor of the Ghost Note, to the right of the centre spotlight. The quickest way to get there is to utilise the drummer to climb to the second floor, but the sax player can also get you there.
Check that bounced
Go down the stairs after Kat’s backstage talk with Johnny, but don’t follow Didi out the door because it will close behind you. First, look under the stairs for a bouncing Johnny child-support check.
Poster by Vincenzo
Look behind the spotlight after listening in on Johnny’s talk with Vicenzo at Le Pont Jazz Bar. A poster for Vincenzo’s performance at the World’s Fair can be found there.
Headline: Vincenzo
Pick up the newspaper on the coffee table in the manager’s office on the second floor of Le Pont, beyond the desk with the film reel. Vincenzo’s magic act is the subject of the front-page storey.
Under New Directions
Check the ticket counter before going to the movies with Didi. You’ll see a message stating that the cinema has closed due to a change in management, implying that Carmine and his henchmen have taken over the operation.
Form for Prisoner Release
When you get to the second floor of the theatre, this Collectible should be right in front of you; make sure to collect it before entering the movie room.
Carmine’s Debt Book
During Carmine and Sal’s chat when you first enter the Excelsior Hotel, you’ll see this Collectible. Before going upstairs, turn back and retrieve it as the cutscene ends.
This is the final Collectible in Act 1, therefore if you have all of the others, you should get the accomplishment “Streets Sweeper” as soon as you pick it up.
Collectibles in Act 2
Picture of Johnny
Turn around and gaze at the window at the beginning of Act 2 to find a snapshot of Johnny.
Notice of Eviction
Turn around and pick up the eviction notice from the table after Didi finds it downstairs and flees away – interacting with it to start the cutscene does not detect the Collectible.
Letter Draft
Pick up the Collectible on the sofa table before leaving Kat and Didi’s residence. After Didi has bolted, it will be directly ahead of you. Kat is pressing her case to Child Services, but she is at a loss for words.
Kat and Didi in a photo
Walk to the far side of the circus tent and check behind the curtain after entering. Both a Collectible and a Luminary can be found there. Salvio signs a photo of Kat and Didi taken from outside the bedroom window, threatening their fate if Johnny does not pay Carmine.
Maintenance Note
Look to your left while entering the pirate ship attraction and study the pole on the left side of the backdrop. There’s a scribbled comment describing the machine’s proclivity for jamming.
Repair Manual
Pick up the Collectible to the left of the lever before restarting the generator with Didi. You’ll find a repair handbook that emphasises the significance of appropriate maintenance, something Johnny most likely overlooked. You won’t be able to return if you don’t pick up this Collectible before restarting the generator.
Collectibles in Act 3
1st Science Drawing
You’ll access the showroom after bypassing Vincenzo’s workshop’s mechanical band. Look behind the stairwell for a drawing that appears to be related to optics.

Headline for a Cancelled Show
You’ll find a Collectible on your right at the foot of the stairs in the workshop’s backroom, which you can first access by ascending the cleaner’s shadow. It appears to be another scientific sketch that looks into how humans perceive shadows.
Before heading to the back, glance to your left once you’ve entered the secret entrance behind the clock in Vincenzo’s workshop. An ancient, yellowed article about Vincenzo unexpectedly cancelling a play in the United Kingdom can be found.
Before going to the secret room, make sure you collect all three Collectibles in the workshop; otherwise, you’ll be thrown back outside and won’t be able to re-enter without restarting the Act.
Photograph of a Shadow
Just past the steps leading to the final room, at the top of the first lighthouse part, there is a large photograph on the wall. Before continue, pick it up. It displays a small girl’s shadow cast by a woman.
Harvard Lecture And Missing Woman Headline
The area with the light panels at the start of the second lighthouse segment includes two easily accessible Collectibles in plain sight. A newspaper about a Scotland Yard inquiry into a missing woman is on the left, while an advertisement for a Harvard lecture about multiverse theory is on the right. Vincenzo (the publication refers to him by his legal name, Artur Iliescu) made his helper disappear onstage, and when she didn’t return, he was as surprised as his audience.
Double Photographs
There is a Collectible on your right before the stairs after Shadow Dashing through the light panels and going to the next floor. It depicts two images of a street scene with shadows that are drastically different from reality.
Drawings 3 and 4 in Science
Walk past the door leading outdoors in the chamber with the two beam emitters to find two additional science pictures, each comparing the human body to its shadow.
Exposition Universelle 1900
You’ll find a brightly illuminated workstation after climbing the gears to the lighthouse’s top room. Examine it for a poster from Paris from 23 years ago. This is the game’s final Collectible, thus if you have the others, you’ll get the accomplishment “BookKeeper.”
