And they added a system to the game that further adds to the bitterness of this love affair.
However, strengthening weapons isn’t always evident, and much of the misunderstanding stems from the fact that it isn’t always achievable. It will take a little time and knowledge, but Dying Light 2 players will soon be fiddling with weaponry to make them survive as long as possible while doing as much damage as feasible.

Find Or Buy A Weapon With Sockets
Perhaps the most difficult aspect about learning to improve guns is the scarcity of upgradeable weaponry. Gamers will almost certainly come across Dead Island Easter eggs before they find a weapon that can be upgraded.
If you have any white, blue, or even purple weapons that don’t have sockets, use them till they’re broken and don’t think about what could have been. Only when a weapon with sockets enables it should you be concerned about greater technology.
Find Or Buy Modifications
Modifications are as uncommon as socketed weapons, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see any when you first come across a stronger melee weapon. These modifications, like the weapon itself, must be discovered while exploring or purchased outright.
Traders are scarce at first, but with the binoculars, you can spot a couple of windmills. A trader will appear after you’ve unlocked them. Don’t lose up hope if they don’t have any modifications in stock when you first contact them.

Equip Mods From The Inventory Screen
- Inventory Tab > Menu > Choose a weapon > Select Modify > Select a Mod
And now it’s time to combine the two! Because the game doesn’t require a crafting table, you can do this wherever you like. Hover over the weapon on the menu screen. A button to change the equipment will be on the bottom (X/Triangle on controllers, C for keyboard users).
Different slots exist for different weapons, including as tips, shafts, and grips. Not every weapon will have all three, and changes can only be applied to certain areas. A grip mod, for example, cannot be thrown into a tip slot. Have fun with your new weapon!
