No One Noticed How Rockstar Teased Red Dead Redemption 2 Mexico Expansion. Some Red Dead Redemption 2 enthusiasts have fostered suspicions that the game will have a Mexico expansion. Several postings on the RDR2 subreddit have been posted discussing improvements. To the game’s unfinished Mexico area, which is normally unavailable. With so little material for both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, it’s easy to see why people might hold out hope that Rockstar Games is working on a major expansion. That is, however, probably certainly not the case.
Why Are Reports Of A Mexico Expansion For Red Dead Redemption 2 Incorrect?
The assertion that there is more plant life in Nuevo Paraiso is the most current rumour regarding a Red Dead Redemption 2 Mexico expansion (or an RDR1 remake for those with even greater ambitions) (the in-game name for Mexico). Several postings on the RDR2 and Red Dead Online subreddit (including this one) have proposed the hypothesis that an increase of plants in the Mexico region indicates that Rockstar is working on it.
Of course, this is the result of two things:
- Wanting to see hope where there is none.
- Having a fundamental misunderstanding of how game development works.
Regardless of how fantastic it is or how much fans adore it, Rockstar has largely abandoned RDR2 and Red Dead Online. The latter isn’t as profitable as GTA Online, therefore there’s no need for them to invest heavily in it. Rockstar’s primary creatives left the firm. And it’s become clear that it just about maximising profit since then. Even with the glacial pace at which Rockstar releases games, a big expansion for RDR2 wouldn’t take four years to develop. An RDR1 remake could take that long, but let’s face it, the studio could just sell Shark Cards instead. That’s what happened with the single-player DLC for Grand Theft Auto V, and it’s almost probably the case here.
These Reddit posts also appear to believe that Rockstar only updates one game world in real time. Why would Rockstar slowly add content to Mexico, a country where players can’t ordinarily travel? Isn’t it true that a large expansion would released as a single update? Yes, it certainly would. Furthermore, supporters of this belief appear to believe that each plant hand-crafted and lovingly planted on the desert floor. They aren’t. Plants brushed into the environment. And fauna generated procedurally to some extent.
Unfortunately, there’s no sign that Rockstar is working on a Mexico expansion for Red Dead Redemption 2. A remake of Red Dead Redemption 1, or a sequel to Red Dead Redemption. A new project in the series will undoubtedly appear at some point in the future. But for the time being, we can consider it largely dormant as Rockstar works on other projects. Thankfully, the company is publishing GTAV for the third console generation in a row. So we have something to look forward to there.
