Basculegion or Braviary are the easiest ways to get Turtwig because they make crossing the river easier. If you want Turtwig sooner, the only other option is to circle Lake Valor, which is located in the Crimson Mirelands’ upper-right corner.
Another option is to use Wyrdeer to get a head start and leap across the river to reach Turtwig’s habitat. When Wyrdeer lands in the water, it will despawn, allowing trainers to “swim” to the other side. Unfortunately, this strategy is only effective at a few points along the river. As a result, it might be easier to avoid Lake Valor or to wait for Basculegion or Braviary.
Continue to the lake on the other side of the river. Pokemon in this location will be around level 20, so levelling up the team before attempting to catch Turtwig is a good idea.
Trainers must approach the lake cautiously and softly so Turtwig does not see them, or it will flee. Turtwig will appear in any weather, although its appearance rate may vary depending on whether it is cloudy, dark, or daytime.
