How To Make Monster Musk In Stardew Valley. A slew of new crafting recipes were included in Stardew Valley’s huge 1.5 release. Many of them, especially the Monster Musk, are really valuable. This unusual concoction has the strange effect of luring monsters out of the various mines, which may seem counter-intuitive.
This is, however, a good method to improve your Combat skill, complete Monster Eradication goals, harvest supplies, and more. Let’s have a look at where to get the formula, how to prepare it, and how Monster Musk works.

The Monster Musk Recipe
The formula is rather simple, but it will take some time for the player to master it.
How to Learn the Recipe for Monster Musk
Simply fulfil the Special Order “Prismatic Jelly” offered by the Wizard on the Special Orders board in town to obtain this recipe. The Monster Musk recipe cannot be learnt in the first Spring or Summer of a save file since these unique missions are accessible on Fall 2 in Year 1.
The Special Orders that are displayed are chosen at random. Grab the quest once it’s been posted; this will activate it and add it to the Journal. The Wizard is on the lookout for a peculiar enemy drop known as Prismatic Jelly for this task. He gives himself seven days to complete this request.
The player will need to kill a Prismatic Slime in order to find this jelly. These unique foes will only appear if this Special Order is activated, which means they will not appear otherwise. Any Slime in the Mines, Quarry Mine, or Skull Cavern has a very small chance of becoming a Prismatic Slime while the quest is running (about 1.2 percent , with some bonus or detriment from Daily Luck). When the player comes across one of these rare Slimes, all they have to do is kill it. The Prismatic Jelly has a one-hundred percent chance of dropping.
The Monster Musk recipe and 5,000g will be given to the player if they bring the Prismastic Jelly to the Wizard.
The Recipe
Monster Musk is made with simply two ingredients:
- 30x Slime
- 30x Bat Wing
Slime is dropped by slimes, as the name implies. These opponents may be found on almost every floor in the Mines and Skull Cavern, as well as in the Quarry Mine. They’re also in the Secret Woods, close to the Ginger Island Farm, and, of course, inside Slime Hutches. Slime can also be found in Slime Hutch Slime Balls, the Traveling Cart, Krobus’s shop on Mondays, and a Slimejack Fish Pond with a population of nine or more Slimejacks.
Bat Wings are less common, but they’re still easy to come by. Bats, unsurprisingly, are the source of these wings. Bat Wings can be dropped by any bat, except Iridium Bats. On Sundays, they can also be purchased at Krobus.
It’s as simple as going to the crafting menu, scrolling down to the Monster Musk symbol, and producing it after the player has all of the necessary ingredients.

How To Use Monster Musk
To use Monster Musk, simply pick it up from your inventory and “eat” it like food. The Monster Musk Buff will appear as a buff icon in the top right corner of the screen when it is active. The amount of time left on the buff may be seen by hovering the cursor over the icon.
Monster Each new floor entered by the player basically doubles the amount of monsters that arrive. It has no effect on the quantity of monsters on the floor where it is utilised. The buff lasts for ten minutes in total.
Here are some useful ways to make the most of Monster Musk:
- Finishing Monster Eradication Goals
- Leveling up the Combat skill
- Farming enemy drops
- Increasing the game’s difficulty
- Luring out more Pepper Rexes when trying to find a Dinosaur Egg
- Completing quests like “Slay Monsters” from the Help Wanted board, the “Cave Patrol” Special Order, the “Juicy Bugs Wanted!” Special Order, and more.
Monster Musk can also be used to stain garments purple, sold for 50g, or given to a villager to lose friendship points with them, as it is despised by all.
