How To Evolve Snorunt In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl.Assume that players in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are having difficulty catching a Fairy-type Pokemon to fight powerful Dragon-types.
In that scenario, they should seek for an Ice-type Pokemon. Before reaching the postgame of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players can catch a few Ice-type Pokemon. Snorunt, an Ice-type Pokemon, is a Pokemon that trainers should consider adding to their squad.
Snorunt and its evolved form, Glalie, are pure Ice-type Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. It wasn’t until the original Diamond/Pearl that it received a second evolution: Froslass. This Pokemon had the unique Ice/Ghost type and could only be evolved from a female Snorunt.

Finding Snorunt
Snorunt wasn’t available in the wild until after players got the National Dex in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. It might be encountered in the wild on Route 217 or Acuity Lakefront in Pokemon Platinum, having a 20% chance of emerging at night. Due to the fact that Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remakes of Diamond/Pearl and not Platinum, players will not be able to find Snorunt on Route 217 or Acuity Lakefront until they have obtained the National Dex.
If trainers are willing to seek for Snorunt in the Grand Underground, they can catch it before the postgame. Snorunt is an uncommon Pokemon that may be found in the Whiteout Cave, Icy Cave, and Glacial Cavern Hideaways on rare occasions. If Snorunt isn’t present when you arrive, quit the hideout and return until it is.
The hideaways where Snorunt can be found are in the Grand Underground map’s northwest corner. On Route 217 or in Snowpoint City, players will need to use the Explorer Kit.
Keep an eye out for Snorunt’s gender when catching it. A male and female Snorunt can both evolve into Glalie, but only the female Snorunt can evolve into Froslass. So, if players desire a Froslass but have already caught a male Snorunt, they’ll have to find another.

Evolving Snorunt into Glalie
Snorunt must reach level 42 to obtain Glalie. Snorunt in the Grand Underground should be over level 42 depending on how many gym badges players have by the time they catch him. Give it a Rare Candy or evolve it by levelling it up during battles.
Glalie has a base stat total of 480 and has an average stat spread:
Stat Name | Base No. |
---|---|
HP | 80 |
Attack | 80 |
Defense | 80 |
Special Attack | 80 |
Special Defense | 80 |
Speed | 80 |
Glalie is a strong Ice-type Pokemon that can defeat Dragon, Grass, Ground, and Flying-type Pokemon. Fighting, Rock, Steel, and Fire-types are all vulnerable to it.
Glalie’s movepool includes a combination of Physical and Special moves, but a Jolly Nature (+Spd, -Sp. Attk) is the best choice to take advantage of its Speed and Attack numbers.
Glalie was able to Mega Evolve in Generations 6-7 and Pokemon GO, but it is now unable to do so in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Glalie misses out on a potential base Attack and Special Attack of 120, as well as a base Speed of 100, that it would normally gain as Mega Glalie.
However, depending on how they wish to construct Glalie’s moveset, players can use it offensively or defensively. Earthquake is a useful TM to use on Glalie because it protects it from two of its weaknesses: Fire and Rock-type Pokemon.
Evolving Snorunt into Froslass
Those who catch a female Snorunt can use a Dawn Stone to morph it into a Froslass. Snorunt does not have to reach level 42 to develop into Froslass. Trainers who have a Dawn Stone in their Bag can develop it at any moment.
Players can enter Mt. Coronet from Route 207 and surf along the body of water near the Rock Smash rocks once they obtain HM Surf. A Poke Ball Item with a Dawn Stone is found at the conclusion.
Another stone can be found in the bottom right Whiteout Cave hideaway in Snowpoint City for those who have already used this Dawn Stone on a male Kirlia. On Route 225, there is a third Dawn Stone, but it won’t be accessible until after the Elite Four. Any other Dawn Stones can only be found in the Grand Underground by mining.
Froslass has a total of 480 base stats. It makes up for its lack of Defense and Special Defense with fast Speed.
Froslass has Ice/Ghost-type attacks that are effective against Grass, Dragon, Ground, Flying, Ghost, and Psychic-type Pokemon. Froslass develops immunity to Fighting and Normal-type techniques as well. Due to its dual Ice/Ghost typing, Froslass is vulnerable to Ghost, Dark, Fire, Rock, and Steel-type attacks.
While Glalie trainers can use Glalie as a protective Pokemon, Froslass is preferable as a swift attacker. The optimal Nature for a Froslass is Timid (+Spd, -Attk), but if damage output is more important, players can get away with Modest (+Sp. Attk, -Attk). Froslass possesses both physical and special attacks, although it is best used as a Special Attacker. Players can employ TMs like TM13 Ice Beam or learn from Froslass as he progresses through the game.
It is up to the player to decide whether to evolve Snorunt into Glalie or Froslass. Because Mega Evolution isn’t available in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, some trainers may prefer Froslass. The fact that Froslass is more faster than Glalie provides it an offensive advantage, but Glalie is a little more durable.
Glalie can also learn Earthquake, although Froslass cannot. Froslass’ dual-typing also provides it more flaws, which players should consider while putting together their squad.
Glalie and Froslass can be effective Pokemon while facing Champion Cynthia and her Dragon/Ground-type Garchomp, regardless of the Pokemon they evolve Snorunt into.
