How To Get The Falcon Ignition Key In Final Fantasy 14. In the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, collecting mounts is a common pastime for players. Due to the timed exclusivity of mounts in Final Fantasy 14, rounding out that stable may be more challenging than in some other collections.
The Falcon mount is a wonderful illustration of this. The Falcon is a flying ship that may be summoned by using the Falcon Ignition Key. There are only a few ways to get the key as of this writing, and each one is a timed event. Timing is everything for those wishing to add the mount to their collection. The Falcon mount is inspired by the same-named airship from Final Fantasy 6.
The Falcon Mount Campaign
The “Fly the Falcon Mount Campaign,” which was released alongside the Stormblood expansion, was the first opportunity to get the Falcon mount. Players who signed up for a 90-day subscription during the campaign received it. The event was held to commemorate the inclusion of the legendary airship in Final Fantasy 14.

“An independent project of Garlond Ironworks engineer Wedge, this single-rider airship allegedly recorded some of the fastest flight speeds ever…until a tragic accident following an attempt to see how high the ship could soar convinced its creator that perhaps a modicum of restraint was necessary,” says the lore for this particular version.
Moogle Treasure Trove Event
The Moogle Treasure Trove Event provided another opportunity to obtain the mount. The inaugural event was in September of 2019, however the mount became available again in March of 2021. Players would rewarded with special tomestones if they completed specific dungeons. Which could traded for uncommon items. The Falcon mount was available for two of these races. As a result, the mount likely to reintroduced in a future Treasure Trove Event.
While there may not be a method to claim the mount at this time, there is a chance it will return in the future Moogle Treasure Trove Event. These types of timed exclusives are frequent in live-service games. It instils in the player base a fear of missing out, encouraging them to resubscribe or continue with their present subscription. While some could call this a less-than-ideal business model, it is undeniably effective. Keep an eye out for the upcoming Moogle Event if you’re still looking for the Falcon mount.
