In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, for example, one of the first things players see from Peter Quill is his choice of adidas sneaker in a first-person perspective from the teenager on his bed.
In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, skin cosmetics and attention to visual authenticity shine. Marvel and adidas have launched a collaboration that will result in a limited edition line of six sneakers based on characters from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The blue-and-white Star-Lord sneakers are a near-identical replica from the game, replete with Star-own Lord’s signature, in a playful tribute to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Not only will Star-Lord get a sneaker, but so will Drax, Gamora, Groot, and Rocket as part of Marvel and adidas’ Originals Collection.

Eric Monacelli, Marvel’s Senior Director of Production, describes how the adidas Forum 84 Hi silhouette had “undeniable throwback appeal” for teenager Peter’s style. Similarly, Peter’s legendary jacket reflected in adidas’ red-and-black Forum Mid. While Peter receives two sneaker variations and the other Guardians only receive one. They are all distinct and showcase adidas’ varied, modern footwear assortment.
Drax’s Ozelia, Gamora’s ZX 2K Boost 2.0, Groot’s NMD R1. And Rocket’s ZX 1K Boost are all inspired by the vivid characters of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. According to James Lui, an adidas Senior Designer, visual idiosyncracies like “Groot’s earthy colour palette” and “Drax’s distinctive tattoos” were used as inspiration for each character.
84 Peter’s Forum Hi’s may resemble Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy’s own cosmetics the most. But the other Guardians’ footwear provides personalised personality that perfectly embodies them. The release date for Marvel and adidas’ Original Collection for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy presently unknown. Though it is expected in “the first half of 2022.” Fans can enjoy Star-sneakers Lord’s as they appear in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy until then.
