How To Beat Melony In Pokemon Shield

How To Beat Melony In Pokemon Shield. The Gym Challenge is broken down into three levels and is rather straightforward. When navigating this gym, stay alert and walk slowly. There are also gym trainers to defeat on the platforms in order to get experience and money.

First Area

  • The trainer here will use a Lvl. 38 Snom. Use a Fire / Rock-type move to easily defeat it.

Second Area

  • This area will have 2 enemy trainers. One will use a Lvl. 38 Cloyster. Use a Grass / Fighting / Electric-type move for effective damage.
  • The other enemy will use Beartic, who is a pure Ice-type pokemon. This should be simple to defeat with Fire-type moves.

Third Area

  • The third and last area will be against an Avalugg. You may use elemental moveset to defeat this high-defense pokemon. Try not to use Physical attacks, as this will do minimal damage to Avalugg.

After defeating all three trainers, it’s time for Melony!

Helpful Hints

  • Frosmoth isn’t extremely fast, and its Fire-type weaknesses make it rather easy to beat. Frosmoth is also vulnerable to Rock-type attacks. If you don’t have a Fire-type Pokemon or want to save your Fire-types for Melony’s remaining Pokemon, use a Rock-type move instead.
  • The Defense and Special Defense of Galarian Darmanitan aren’t as good as Frosmoth’s, but it is faster. Darmanitan enters Zen Mode when its HP is lowered to 50%. Its Attack and Speed will thereafter be boosted. Choose a physical or special move that targets its weak place to beat it.
  • If Eiscue is hit by a Special Attack, the Ice Face ability will not work. Use Special manoeuvres to avoid wasting your turn. After transforming into its Noice Face form, Eiscue will become much faster. If Eiscue performs Hail while in its Noice Face form, its Ice Face talent will be reset at the end of the round, so be careful!

  • Lapras can employ G-Max Resonance, a G-max Move. Melony will Gigantamax Lapras right away, so Dynamax/Gigantamax it with a strong Fighting, Electric, or Grass-type attack. If Lapras has the chance to use G-Max Resonance, Aurora Veil will be triggered.
  • Aurora Veil reduces the amount of damage that physical and special attacks do to Lapras.
  • G-Max Resonance does not require the use of a summoning spell, like does Aurora Veil.
