How To Hijack Tanks In Far Cry 6

How To Hijack Tanks In Far Cry 6. Learn how to hijack a tank in Far Cry 6 to earn the Not So Tough Trophy/Achievement and cause havoc as the new driver.

Taking on multiple enemy vehicles at once in Far Cry 6 can be lethal, especially when up against a tank. Even when powerful weapons are used to target the vehicle’s weak spot, it is difficult to bring down the formidable, heavily armoured vehicle.

Instead of fighting them head-on, players in Far Cry 6 can hijack tanks. It will not only make encountering one less stressful, but it will also unlock the “Not So Tough” Trophy/Achievement for the first time.

Hodey Johns updated this page on December 16th, 2021: It is far easier to take over a tank than it is to destroy one. Even the most powerful explosives require multiple hits to bring a tank down, whereas stealing a tank requires only one shot/blast to neutralise the threat and turn it against its former friends. The original article contained all of that information, and readers were grateful for it. To aid readability, this article has divided into several sections, one detailing the equipment required, another discussing how to carry out the process, and a final entry showing players where a guaranteed tank can be hijacked.

Acquire An EMP Device

In Far Cry 6, players must obtain EMP-capable equipment in order to hijack a tank. To get inside one, an EMP device required to trigger the hijack prompt. Among the equipment that can used are:

  • The Volta Supremo.
  • The Zeusito weapon.
  • Remote EMP Charge.

The Volta a Supremo in Far Cry 6 that can purchased from any of Juan’s Arms Dealers once you reach Rank 3. The Zeusito can also purchased from Juan, but players must be at least Rank 7 in order to do so. Both pieces of equipment 100 Depleted Uranium in price.

The Remote EMP Charge is a Gadget Mod that can used on another Supremo. It can attached to a Supremo from a Workbench and costs three Supremo Bonds and five Industrial Composites to craft. It’s time to find a tank once players have an EMP-enabled device.

How To Bring Down A Tank

When you find an occupied tank, use an EMP ability to disable it. Always shoot the gunner first, or else the prompt to hijack the tank will not appear. The EMP blast will temporarily disable the vehicle, and while it isn’t moving, players should jump on top of it and look down at the hatch.

The angle is critical here; if players are on the wrong side of the tank or hatch, the command will not prompt. To take over the tank, press R3 on consoles or F on PC. Dani will regain control after a brief animation. The tanks deal a lot of damage, and killing in the vehicle earns a lot of experience points toward the game’s highest level.

Where To Find a Tank

If players are unable to locate a tank on the roads, they can travel to the mud track south of the Oasis Plains marker in the north Madrugada region. The tank easily identified by listening for its loud engine and looking for a dust trail on the dirt road. Far Cry 6 has many missions, but Madruga is only available after completing the “Libertad Rises” mission.

The “Not So Tough” Trophy/Achievement will unlocked after successfully hijacking a tank for the first time. Players can use this method to quickly take down a tank without relying on specific weapons for the rest of the game.
