How To Calm The Dog In Wytchwood

How To Calm The Dog In Wytchwood Wytchwood is a charming, story-driven game about a witch on a mission to complete a contract by gathering 12 souls. Players will need to catch birds and squirrels, trap possessed pumpkins, and even soothe some highly territorial dogs while walking through the fairytale-like indie game.

Lighting the Braziers in Wytchwood

Players must collect four objects from the Forest in order to complete one of the first actual jobs they are given: a dazzling stone, frog slime, a blue feather, and a smidgeon of dog fur. In Wytchwood’s first chapter, each of these is required to light one of four braziers. To obtain the final item, players must first prepare a treat for the puppy and place a sleeping potion inside it.

Use Witch’s Sight in Wytchwood

Examine the dog with Witch’s Sight to take the first step in unlocking all of Wytchwood’s fast-travel portals and capturing the 12 souls. This tool is used often throughout the game to discover the weaknesses of various animals and monsters, allowing players to take from, capture, and kill them.

Some species, such as squirrels and birds, are easy to catch with simple traps, but others require a lot more effort to get the witch what she wants. When players use Witch’s Sight to look at the dog, they will receive the recipes for various new products.

  • A Wytchwood Simple Clay Jar
  • A Soporific Potion
  • A Soporific Morsel

Obtain a Jar

To begin, players must either take a jar or make one. The simplest method is to sneak behind the dog and take one of the two jars behind her, but players can also make their own.

  • Jars need clay and embers to make.
  • To get the clay, head to the well and talk to the Well Wisher. He will give you his trowel. Head into the well and dig at the Clay Deposits with the Trowel. They will drop clay.
  • To get embers, head over to the Woodcutter’s house and look for the Ash Pile by the fire. Use the Trowel on it. It should contain the ember needed.
  • Don’t forget to grab the ax from the Woodcutter, as it is needed for the next step in the morsel-making process.

Create the Soporific Potion

  • Take the jar back into the well and fill it with one of the water holes in the walls.
  • Find a Rotting Log somewhere on the Forest floor. They pop up all over the place, so this shouldn’t be difficult. Inside the rotting logs, players will find branches, impeye nuts, and a mushroom called Lethe Cap.
  • Combine the Lethe Cap, the Jar filled with Water, and the Impeye Nut together to form a Soporific Potion.

Create the Soporific Morsel

Twine, branches, and impeye nuts can used to make basic traps for tiny animals. Wytchwood rats, squirrels, and birds can all caught in these traps. To obtain the trap’s recipe, gamers must simply use the Witch’s sight on one of these small animals. Make a trap and set it, then wait for a squirrel or bird to fall into it. Players should receive a Meaty Morsel as a result of this. When coupled with the Soporific Potion, a Soporific Morsel is created, which the dog’s weakness.

  • Once she is asleep, walk up to her and use the Shears on her.

  • Pick it up and bring it back to the Brazier by walking back through the portal or by breaking a Hearthseed to instantly take the witch back to her home.

The witch will need several tufts of dog hair through the 10-hour playtime of Wytchwood, but one Soporific Morsel will only allow players to collect one clump of fur. In order to get more, players have to wait for the dog to wake then give it another sleeping treat or find another dog in another location to give another Soporific Morsel to.
