Fishing Locations In Genshin Impact With the release of the Genshin Impact version 2.1 update, a robust fishing system has been added to the game. Genshin Impact has regularly added some side activities for players to enjoy in the world of Teyvat throughout the first year of the service. This includes permanent additions such as the player housing system and limited-time event activities such as rhythm mini-games. The implementation of the fishing system provides travelers with new ways to earn rewards and improve their in-game homes. Brave fishermen can use this guide to see different fishing spots at Genshin Impact.
There are some prerequisites for unlocking the fishing system at Genshin Impact. First, the player must unlock the Serenitea Pot housing system. Next, the player must complete the World Quest for the Explosive Population given by Catherine in Mondostadt. This quest requires an adventure rank of 28 or higher, so new players may have to do it before they can start fishing.

The original fishing spot
As of the release of version 2.1 of the fishing system, Mondstadt, Liyue and Lightning have fishing spots. At these locations, travelers can search for ripples in the water and start fishing with suitable fishing rods and bait. Before starting a fishing trip, players should make sure to make a lot of bait on the workbench. It should be noted that fish will respawn in their place every 3 days.
Mondstadt fishing locations
Players may spend the first time in Mondstadt with the fish quarreling with the fishing rod. Some fish, such as brown white fish, are unique to the region, just like some other local specialities in Mondstadt.

Two new fishing spots are located on Tsurumi Island in Lightning. The first location is on the west side of Senjing Shrine. After the player uses the teleportation point, go down to the West Bank to find a location.
The second is the southwestern part of the Otak Plain. It is a bit far from Waypoint, so travelers need to do some walking and gliding. The location is on a small island with a Hilichurl Hut. Travelers should remember that this location can only be visited after talking to the ghost Ipe.
Fish that only appear at a certain time
It is important to remember that not all fish will appear. Most notably, the stickleback and angelfish families have time limits. The following is a complete list of species that lay eggs only during the day or night:
Fish That Only Appears At Day-Time
- Akai Maou (Stickleback)
- Crystalfish (Medaka)
- Tea-Colored Shirakodai (Angelfish)
- Brown Shirakodai (Angelfish)
- Abiding Angelfish (Angelfish)
Fish That Only Appears At Night-Time
- Venomspine Fish (Stickleback)
- Snowstrider (Stickleback)
- Betta (Stickleback)
- Lunged Stickleback (Stickleback)
- Dawncatcher (Medaka)
- Raimei Angelfish (Angelfish)
The rest of the species can be found at any time, like the Medaka, Koi, and Pufferfish.
Exchanging Fishes In Genshin Impact
In each of the three regions, there’s a fisherman from the Fishing Association; Nantuck, Kujirai Momiji, and Jiawei. They can be found in Mondstadt, Inazuma, and Liyue respectively. Each of them has items that can be bought by exchanging certain types and amounts of fish.

Food Processing
Finally, fish can be processed into an ingredient for cooking recipes. Every species yields a certain number of fish. To make it easier, here’s a complete list of the species and how many fish they offer:
