All New Rare Curios Item In Skyrim .The Rare Curios creation included with Skyrim Anniversary Edition adds a plethora of new Alchemy ingredients for players to create new Potions, a variety of new ammunition, the ability to create Poisoned Apples, and two Ayleid artefacts plucked straight from the dungeons of Oblivion: Varla Stones and Welkynd Stones.
To put it bluntly, it’s a sprawling creation, and it’ll take players a long time to discover everything the vast addon adds to Skyrim. Some of these ingredients and other items will drop at random in dungeon loot. But the majority of them can only be obtained from one of Skyrim’s three roaming Khajiit Caravans.

How to Obtain Unusual Ingredients and Items
Players can find Rare Curios items in two places: Khajiit Caravans and Dungeon loot. Varla Stones and Welkynd Stones are usually found in the final chest of a dungeon. While other ingredients and ammo are only found on rare occasions in creature and chest loot tables.
The majority of the new items discovered in the Rare Curios creation can be purchased from Khajiit Caravans scattered across Skyrim. Skyrim has three caravans led by three Khajiit merchants. Ri’Saad travels from Whiterun to Markarth, Ahkari from Dawnstar to Riften, and Ma’Dran leads her Caravan from Windhelm to Solitude.
Rare Curiosity’s 51 New Ingredients
The Rare Curios creation adds a total of 51 new ingredients to Skyrim. For the most part, these ingredients do not provide new effects. But rather improve on those provided by standard ingredients. Because their effects are stronger and last longer. They are more expensive than standard Alchemy ingredients.
All 51 ingredients are listed below in three equal alphabetical sections. Based on the first letter of each ingredient – these groupings are more for readability than an indication of their strength or similarity. Remember to only combine ingredients that have similar effects, or you risk wasting these valuable (and expensive) materials.

A to D Ingredients
The Rare Curios mod includes a variety of ingredients and items from previous Elder Scrolls games. Oblivion’s Poisoned Apples are well-known. Thanks in part to the LaFave Brothers who mocked the ridiculous way victims died while eating them. Finally these Poisoned Apples make their way to Skyrim with Rare Curios. There are two types each of which uses either red or green apples.
The Poisoned Red Apple and Poisoned Green Apple both deal 4 Poison Damage per second for a total of 240 damage. They cannot however be purchased from an NPC and must be crafted. Combine a red or green apple and a chokeberry in a bowl (included with the Rare Curios creation)
New Arrows And Bolts from Rare Curios
The Bonemold Bolt, Iron Bolt, Orcish Bolt, and Silver Bolt (which, ironically, was not included with the Dawnguard DLC) are the other Bolts added with Rare Curios. While none of these have a one-of-a-kind effect like Corkbulb ammo. They are included in the game’s levelled lists and work in tandem with the Anniversary Edition’s Crossbow and Archery addons.
Arrow/Bolt Type | Raw Damage | Special Effects | Crafting Requirements and Perks | Gold Value |
---|---|---|---|---|
Corkbulb Arrow | 10 | 25% chance to Paralyze | Corkbulb Root | 6 |
Bonemold Bolt | 15 | N/A | Bonemeal, Steel Smithing perk | 3 |
Corkbulb Bolt | 10 | 25% chance to Paralyze | Corkbulb Root | 6 |
Iron Bolt | 8 | N/A | Iron Ingot | 1 |
Orcish Bolt | 12 | N/A | Orichalcum Ingot, Orcish Smithing perk | 3 |
Silver Bolt | 10 | N/A | Silver Ingot | 2 |
Varla Stones and Welkynd Stones
Poisoned Apples aren’t the only Oblivion-resurrected item in the Rare Curios creation. The Ayleid Ruins are a rare sight in Skyrim. And Welkynd Stones in dungeons and from Khajiit Caravans.
The Ayleids revered Varla Stones and Welkynd Stones as fragments of Aetherius (the enigmatic realm of the Aedra) that fell to Nirn. These stones in Skyrim will fully recharge an Enchanted Weapon or completely restore the player’s Magicka. They’re also quite valuable so it’s worth looking for them even if you don’t have much time.
