The Best Hiding Spots In Phasmophobia. Has been a smash hit since its initial early access release in 2020. The game was janky and buggy when it first came out, but with more time, passion, and support, it has grown exponentially. Phasmophobia was a unique take on the horror genre, putting players in the shoes of ghost hunters who had to force interactions with the spirit in order to gather evidence and determine its type. The Nightmare Update, which added new ghosts, a new map, and a whole new difficulty, was the game’s largest content update ever.
The game has steadily become more difficult as it has aged, and even seasoned ghost hunters will need to review their routines. As the ghost’s lethality increases with each patch, hiding places become increasingly important. Though the best hiding spots vary depending on where the ghost room is located and what type of ghost is haunting the location, there are many hiding spots that are usually a safe bet to retreat to during a hunt.

The Best Hiding Spots In Phasmophobia
The Bathrooms at Maple Lodge Campsite
The Maple Lodge Campsite is the newest map from Phasmophobia. This map added a slew of new features to the game, such as various weather states that can impact the investigation. One of the most distinguishing features of this map is that it is primarily an outdoor map. Though there is a lodge on the map that has its own secrets, the majority of ghosts will be haunting outdoor areas or tents. Even experienced paranormal investigators may find proper setup and evidence gathering difficult as a result of this.
Another challenge of this map is escaping the ghost while on a hunt. Because the ghost frequently haunts outside, it can be difficult to loop it around corners. There aren’t any.
The bathroom is the best hiding place on the map. A long wooden building can be seen near the right side of the map, near the entry gate. This is the camp’s restroom. It has a few stalls with doors, which are the best places to hide on the map. The ghost may notice the player enter the bathroom, but it frequently ignores the stalls. Simply turn off all electronics and close the stall door.
Guard Rooms in a Prison
If the ghost is haunting specific rooms, the prison map is one of the most difficult maps to hide on. Hide will feel pretty standard if the ghost room is anywhere other than the prison blocks. When the ghost begins hunting, it’s usually best to try to change floors, as this will often result in a successful hunt. Things get a little more complicated if the ghost happens to be haunting a prison block. At one point, each cell was considered a separate room. This made hiding easier because the ghost wouldn’t check other rooms.
An earlier update caused the ghost to investigate new rooms more frequently, especially if it saw someone enter. As a result, prison block hunts have become nearly impossible to survive, as the block is very open and the bars provide no protection from the ghost’s gaze. If the players are deep inside the cell block when a hunt begins, the guard room is their best option. This room controls all of the lights in the block and provides slightly more visual cover than the cells.
Willow Street’s House-Hiding Spots
Willow Street House was made available with no traditional hiding places. On paper, this appears to be a difficult task. In practise, this map can be difficult, particularly on Professional difficulty and higher. On Willow Street House, the idea is to hide behind furniture or in corners where the ghost might not look. Again, in the current build, the ghost is much better at tracking players around corners, so these ostensibly hiding places frequently fail, but there are a few that are better than the others.
First, the player must locate a suitable one within the house’s garage. The breaker is frequently located inside the garage, so it won’t be too difficult to investigate. The player will be on the right side wall from the garage entrance.
Then, at the end of the basement hall, there’s a good hiding spot. This one can be identified by a shovel against the wall and an excessively large garbage can. The player can use a slow basement ghost to hide here. However, if the ghost has a quick hunt movement speed, they will most likely track the player behind the garbage can and send them to the afterlife. Nonetheless, this is one of the better hiding spots on Willow Street House and should not be overlooked.
The Attic at Bleasdale Farmhouse

Bleasdale Farmhouse is one of the game’s two farmhouse maps. The attic on the third floor distinguishes it from the Grafton Farmhouse. The attic can be a ghost room as well as a Ouija Board. It’s also an underutilised hiding spot in the game. Though the attic lacks many of the characteristics that make most hiding places desirable, it can be a very useful location during a hunt. To get to the attic, the player must ascend a few flights of stairs, which can occasionally trip up the ghost. If that doesn’t work, the attic’s size and clutter provide an ideal hiding place for the ghost.
The ghost will frequently enter the attic and patrol the area, but the player can frequently break the line of sight and hide behind the clutter. This can be difficult for new players, as it requires them to crouch around various pieces of clutter as the ghost walks around. Consider the attic to be a place to hide in plain sight—and avoid the ghost’s line of sight at all costs. While most hiding places simply require players to tuck themselves away and remain silent, this one is more akin to Metal Gear or Splinter Cell in that it will require active stealth to avoid being discovered.
Lockers
Lockers can be found on a variety of maps. There are no lockers on the medium or Asylum maps, but they should be present on all small maps at least once (except for Willow). Lockers are widely regarded as some of the best hiding places due to their ease of access. They are often easier to open than closets, but there are fewer of them on the maps. It is critical for the player not to focus solely on the ghost after discovering a ghost room. While gathering evidence is at the heart of the game, survival is also crucial. Players should scout the ghost room for good hiding spots, including lockers.
It should be noted that lockers in the ghost room will almost never protect a player from a hunt. If the ghost believes the player is inside, it has the ability to open locker doors. If the ghost sees a player enter a locker or a closet, the player will almost certainly die, as the ghost will simply open the hiding spot and find the player. Opening a locker door and hiding behind it, on the other hand, will frequently break the ghost’s line of sight during a chase, making lockers a good all-around hiding place.
Closets
Closets function similarly to lockers but are more common. They can also be difficult to open during an active chase if the player is panicking or going too fast. On the game’s small maps, many closets are located in hallways or inside bedrooms, and these access points make them ideal for quickly slipping away and avoiding the ghost’s wrath.
The ghost will open the doors, and no amount of holding them shut will work because the ghost can always overpower the player. Closets are a classic example.
