Despite their massive size, they can run around Eorzea at the speed of a galloping horse. Ordinary speech is difficult for them due to their large vocal cords, which has led to the misconception that they are not intelligent. They communicate with each other, however, through both words and foot stomps. Their voices are so deep that non-matanga cannot understand some of their words. In terms of hierarchy, each matanga tribe has a “grand regant” who oversees the herd.
The matanga have been slaves to both the Garlean Empire and Near Eastern warlords in the past. The Garleans do not consider matanga people to be human, and warlords have fed them drugged hay before training them as slave soldiers. Those seen on the Azim Steppe were freed from Garlean slavery. For unknown reasons, these matanga despise Au Ra, which is why they have become hostile enemies in the Azim Steppe since the player has allied with the various Au Ra tribes.
There are the Azim Steppe’s level 66 hostile matanga, but there are also others.

They also collaborated with Au Ra and Hyur to establish the city-state of Radz-at-Han. All of this distinguishes them from the matanga of the Azim Steppe, but knowing information from the Encylopedia Eorzea makes fans wonder how difficult communication with the tribe will be. There may be a translator on-site, or the Arkasodara may be able to get by on their own.
Based on their revealed clothing, the Beast Tribe may offer Middle Eastern-inspired rewards such as mounts, housing items, minions, and gear. The plot of their storey is entirely up in the air. Previous Beast Tribes stories have included everything from building a hot air balloon to building tanks, so the possibilities are truly limitless.
