Where To Find Islehoppers In Sea Of Thieves: All Islehoppers Locations. Unlike capturing many other fish in Sea of Thieves, catching all of the Islehoppers necessitates a bit more travel. In contrast to Regional species, which may be found throughout broad swathes of the map, each Islehopper can only be found within the title cards of specific Large Islands. That means if you want to catch all five Islehoppers, you’ll have to visit at least four different islands (the Raven can be found at any Large Island). Fortunately, no bait is required to catch Islehoppers, so you won’t have to waste time digging for Earthworms or Leeches. This also implies that the fish you can catch will be limited to Splashtails and the Islehopper you’re after.
Remember that fishing in Sea of Thieves is randomised, and catching the rarer fish variations typically involves a lot of RNG (luck). The results may vary greatly, but this guide will tell you exactly where to find each fish.
Table of Contents
Stone Islander
Locations & Coordinates:
- Sailor’s Bounty – C-4
- Cannon Cove – G-10
- Shark Bait Cove – H-19
- Shipwreck Bay – M-10
- Crook’s Hollow – M-16
- Fetcher’s Rest – V-12
The Stone’s gloomy grey colour makes it difficult to spot, especially at night, despite its appearance in the title cards of the islands listed above. We recommend fishing for these during the day to make things easier, and look for the pinkish-red tail and underbelly that give it away. You can also change the brightness of your display if necessary. At Seaposts, one normal raw Stone Islehopper costs 105 Gold.
Moss Islander
Locations & Coordinates:
- Wanderers Refuge – F-12
- Lone Cove – H-6
- Thieves’ Haven – L-20
- Marauder’s Arch – Q-3
- Ashen Reaches – V-23
- Ruby’s Fall – Y-16
In comparison to the Stone Islehopper, identifying a green and yellow Moss Islehopper in the water should be simple. The vivid green Seafoam Splashtail may confuse you once or twice at night, but the Seafoam’s characteristic fluorescence should be obvious. A excellent method for anglers looking for quick coin is to fish at the north end of Wanderers Refuge, toward coordinates G-12. From there, sail two tiles northeast to The Northstar Seapost and sell normal uncooked Moss for 105 Gold each to The Hunter’s Call.
Honey Islander

Locations & Coordinates:
- Crescent Isle – B-9
- Discovery Ridge – E-17
- Plunder Valley – G-16
- The Sunken Grove – P-7
- Kraken’s Fall – R-12
- The Devil’s Thirst – W-21
Returning to a challenging fish variety, the Honey Islehopper’s yellow-orange colour palette makes it appear in the water like a Sunny Splashtail. You might catch the wrong fish if you’re not paying close enough attention. To prevent catching a Sunny, keep a look out for the Honey’s distinct shape, bulbous black eyes, and bright yellow head. We recommend fishing on Discovery Ridge’s east side. You can then sell your items by sailing one tile east to The Finest Trading Post. At Seaposts, one standard raw Honey Islehopper costs 105 Gold.
Raven Islander
Locations & Coordinates:
- Any Large Island (see Amethyst Islehopper locations)
Aside from being an uncommon form of Islehopper, there is a specific strategy to catch the Raven to maximise your time. If you haven’t found one by the time you’ve caught the previous three Islehoppers, or if you wish to fulfil the Commendation for catching ten, you should only fish for these at Large Islands, where the Amethyst Islehopper can be found. This narrows the candidate pool to Splashtails and Ravens (meaning no other Islehoppers during the day). You can also continue to focus on catching Amethysts at night.
The Raven, like the Stone, is dark and difficult to spot in the water. Look for its pinkish fins and brilliant blue belly, which give it away.
Islehopper Amethyst
Locations & Coordinates (Only at Night):
- Mermaid’s Hideaway – B-13
- Smuggler’s Bay – F-3
- Snake Island – K-16
- Old Faithful Isle – M-4
- The Crooked Masts – O-11
- Devil’s Ridge – P-19
- Flintlock Peninsula – W-14
The Amethyst Islehopper is the Islehopper’s evening counterpart, which is both a good and a negative thing. On the positive side, the Amethyst is easy to identify because it glows purple in water at night. The disadvantage is that you only have one night cycle to catch as many as you can. After that, you’ll have to wait until nightfall to catch more. If you want to sell quickly, it’s preferable to fish at Snake Island, which is immediately next to Stephen’s Spoils. If you want to catch every fish in Sea of Thieves, Mermaid’s Hideaway features a freshwater pool where you can catch Pondies during the day. One raw Amethyst Islehopper on a regular basis
