Bastion Remnant usage and locations

What to prepare?
- Iron armor or above, with at least one piece of golden armor to avoid drawing piglins aggro. Piglin brutes will still attack you, however.
- Sword and tool of iron tier and above, enchanted with sharpness.
- Food for healing and Shield to avoid taking damage.
- Bring some logs and/or planks to craft boats, which will be very useful against piglin brutes and melee piglins
- Bow and arrows
- Fire resistance potions
Deal with the mobs
- Piglin Brutes:
It’s a very hard band with high damage and shields that can be disabled. Avoid fighting in melee against them. It’s better to only create a column of 3 blocks high, then snipe them on top with arrows. You can also set a boat on its way – inside the boat, they will get stuck
- Piglins:
Attacking a piglin brute will cause you to attack all the piglins in the vicinity, even when you wear gold. Not too powerful, however, the pigs are still quite mischievous in numbers. It’s easy to fight them with melee and range weapons – just fit a shield and block if needed.

- Hoglins:
They are not dangerous as long as players avoid getting knock into lava.
- Magma cubes:
They come from spawners that hang over lava chains. It is best to leave the spawners when you can destroy them so that a magma cubes farm can be built. Snip the big cubes of magma first, since they are the most dangerous. After taking it down, dealing with the rest is much easier.
Exploring the bastion
- Try to get to the top of the bastion and make your way downward instead of the opposite. This lets you see the surroundings and avoid ambushes. Secure a respawn area and set a respawn anchor.
- Because the bastion remnant is almost completely made of blackstone, navigation can become difficult as the monochrome makes it hard to spot un-explored stairs or corridors. Mark your path with torches.
- When exploring a Hoglin stable, you should kill the Hoglins first. When exploring a Treasure Room, after clearing out the areas above, you should fill in the surrounding lava and disable/close off the Magma Cube spawner.
