Moon Samurai is a Cyberpunk Pixel Graphics Action Adventure Game.Nunchaku Games unveiled the new cyberpunk Moon Samurai trailer that will later arrive at the Nintendo Switch and PC. On the Pocket Gamer LaunchPad #4 stream last week, we displayed the teaser.

Moon Samurai is a game in a cyberpunk environment with two pixel graphical adventure. You play as a master of martial arts who perform brutal attacks by killing shots, with game animations and combat mechanics based on Nunjaku’s personal experiences in martial arts and hundreds of video lessons.

Moon Samurai is a 2D pixel platform adventure action game in the world of cyberpunk.

As a young samurai called the Buddy you’re going to play. Fight your way into a dangerous universe of science fiction, unravel your secrets and break all your traps. Tornadic scuffles against a large number of enemies will go together to hop on roofs, balconies and ladders in an amazing parkour form.

It was inspired by antique martial arts films, cyberpunk society and retro games from the 80s-to-90s: Prince of Persia, Double Dragon, Comix Zone, Oni, Battletoads and Karateka.

Story

2070 will be the year. Megapolis RAM City, Moon. Buddy, the leading actor, escapes jail. Danao X is aided in his quest to bust past prison guards and security measures, and is responsible for controlling almost all operations in RAM city.

Buddy and Danao have mutual enemies — six Samurai who betrayed Danao and obtained almost complete control of the city. The Buddy was thrown behind bars because he didn’t help their scheme himself as a samurai.

Buddy and Danao have to take vengeance on the samurai one day and avoid the recent bloom of the town. The sweaty young Buddy seeks redemption and vengeance. Danao is an emotionless and practical machine without human morals. They have a shared objective, but they also have their own subsequent motivations. They must learn to trust each other, and they will beat their enemies only together.

Key Features:

  • Beautiful fusion of platformer and beat ’em up genres.
  • Elaborated combat mechanics. Player will feel like a martial arts master by delivering dozens of various kicks and punches.
  • Melee weapons will also be available in the game: sword, nunchaku, and a missile weapon—plasma ball. All the strikes animations using melee weapons are executed with precise details and look very realistic.
  • Cinematic story telling. In Moon Samurai, we aim at making each scene as spectacular and eye-catching as possible. Combat episodes will be interwoven with QTE elements, providing main character many opportunities to interact with interior elements and to use improvised means and instruments turned out to be at hand, just as Jackie did in his movies.
  • Detailed “retro-stylized” pixel-art. Visual part of Moon Samurai can boast truly manic attention to details. Despite modern appearance of animation and graphics, these are still the same good old-schoolish hand-drawn pixels favored by players all around the world.
  • Epic Boss Battles. Fighting bosses will prove to be a real challenge. Each boss has his or her own personal history with the main character. Players will certainly memorize these encounters.
  • Feel the nunchaku power! One of distinctive characteristics of the enemies will be their ability to form bands (crowds), which will considerably complicate fighting process for the player, because dealing with these will require remarkable reflexes. Especially for such situations, main character is carrying his nunchaku with him, using them such crowds will be dealt with in a Bruce style—fast and beautifully.
  • The game will feature eight levels with more than 50 different locations.
